Heart Shaped Sunglasses are the Perfect Gift for Summer Holidays

Heart shaped sunglasses are hot for Spring 2015! Looks who's wearing heart shaped glasses now: Jennifer Love Hewitt, Connor Schofield (lead singer of Jaws), Bella Thorne. Heart sunglasses are sweet and sexy, fun and flirty - how can you face the summer vacations without sweetheart sunglasses?

Oh yes - retro is back in a big way and it's time for heart shaped sunglasses! Summer 2015 is going to be 50's vintage all the way - and what could be sweeter than these Sweet Heart sun glasses?

These sexy, heart glasses were made popular by the film, 'Lolita', of the block buster best selling novel of the same name by Vladimir Nabokov zand they're sometimes called 'Lolita glasses'. Lolita was first published in 1955 and then made into a movie in 1962; these cute and steamy heart shaped sun glasses have never been out of fashion since and are still cool today - just swipe a glance at Marilyn Manson videos and lyrics (below).

So if you're looking for fun, vintage look and unbelievably cheap sunglasses, you'll find so much choice in great value eyewear.

Go wild this summer with heart glasses!!

Are You Ready for Red Heart Shaped Sunglasses this Summer? - So sensuous and such fun!

Lolita Made Heart Shaped Glasses Iconic

Lolita - the movie

The first film adaptation of the novel by Nabokov was made in 1962 by Stanley Kubrick, and starred James Mason, Shelley Winters, Peter Sellers and Sue Lyon as Lolita. The infamous 'hero' of the book is Humbert Humbert, a middle-aged man who becomes obsessed with a 12-year-old girl named Dolores Haze, nicknamed Lolita. Is this erotica? Some might say so, but you're going to have to work hard, it's not an easy read or a comfortable watch. Perhaps you'd be closer to the truth if you saw it as a tragicomedy characterized by irony and sarcasm, however, it is difficult to get away from the distasteful core stheme.

The second film adaptation was made in 1997, directed by Adrian Lyne and starred Jeremy Irons as Humbert Humbert and Melanie Griffith as Lolita. It received mixed reviews partly because the dark comedy was replaced by romantic goo. The controversial subject matter delayed release and is just as worrying today as in the 1950's.

One of the Many Versions of the Lolita Poster

Wearing those sizzling heart shaped specs

This poster showing Lolita wearing red, heart shaped glasses, has become one of the iconic images of the 20th Century. In this the colour is monotone and red, in other versions, (see below), the glasses and lolipop, a reference to the youth of seductress Lolita, is a brilliantly scarlet. These posters make sexy fun gifts for Valentine's Day

Heart Shaped Glasses and the 'Sweet Lolita' Look

Did Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita inspire Lolita fashion?

Lolita fashion seems to have originated in Japan in the 70's, largely influenced by Japanese rock bands from the Visual Kei musical movement during the 80s and 90s, but it really took off in the 90's and became something of a fashion subculture. A frothy, sweet heart sherbert mix of baby doll dresses and shoes, crossed with European vintage Victorian costume and, in another version, given a goth twist.

Have a look at these gorgeous Lolita shoes Classic, Gothic and Sweet Lolita Shoes

The origins of the fashion's name is not confirmed, but Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita is the obvious source. Having said that, Lolita fashion is far from sexually provocative other than the link with young girls. The Lolita influence is apparent in the female singer's costume in Marylin Manson Heart Shaped Glasses video (see below and the official version on YouTube Marilyn Manson - Heart Shaped Glasses offical video.

Black Heart Shaped Glasses and White Heart Shaped Glasses - Madonna white and Sienna Miller black: shades for summer

Madonna wore her white Moschino heart shaped sunglasses with black lenses for her Sticky and Sweet concert tour in August 2008, London, and Sienna Miller teamed her black glasses with a long, black fur coat.

Heart Shaped Glasses by Marilyn Manson - Manson made heart shaped glasses famous in song

The heart shaped Lolita glasses play a big part in the Maryilyn Manson official video for Heart Shaped Glasses. The words 'Eat me - Drink me', which appear there, are clearly a reference to Lewis Carrolls famous childrens' classic Alice in Wonderland, and the vocalist's dress echoes the original Alice illustrations by Tenniel, but with a Sweet Lolita Fashion twist. Manson wrote this song after his teenage girlfriend, Evan Rachel Wood, turned up for a date.

Manson himself wears heart shaped glasses during his Rape of the World tour. Read more and see pictures at this site Eat Me Drink Me

Here's a snipette from Marilyn Manson's Heart Shaped Glasses Lyrics:

"Don't break,

Don't break my heart,

and I won't break your heart shaped glasses.

Little girl,

little girl you should close your eyes,

that blue is getting me high. "
