The Power Of Timeless Beauty

Updated on October 3, 2014

THE QUEST FOR BEAUTY IS A QUEST FOR LOVE

When my dad turned 80, I asked him "What's 80 feel like?"

And he said "It's still me"

I'll never forget that. Because, as I get older, it's still me.

And, truth is, there's a power to looking as youthful as possible.

Sure, beauty is skin deep. But sometimes it's hard to get past the skin when it's covered with wrinkles, age spots, and discoloration.

People treat you differently. They really do. Sometimes it's better, but usually it's worse.

And many of us are still part of the work force, and need to look as good as possible!

(not to mention that we don't mind having a little sex-appeal either)

So when a friend called to tell me about a fast acting anti-aging cream for healing skin, even though I said no at first, I ultimately had to take a look.

Look Good

Feel Good!

All these years I've talked to people about health. And here's the way it is: they don't really get all that excited.

But beauty? Youthfulness? They're all over it.

In fact, if they don't look good, they don't feel all that good.

Think about the department stores. what's the first thing you seen when you walk in?

Skin care products and make up.

We live in a society where looks matter.

And I could go on all day about how this is the media's fault- it has distorted our perception of beauty. (We get hit with 400-600 ads a day with impossibly beautiful and handsome people. It's warped our young people, but actually has impacted all age groups.)

But truth is, the impact of beauty and the importance we put on it seems to be downloaded on our DNA!

Photoshopped Celebrities

Imaging technologies have given us an idea of perfection that is absolutely unattainable to a mere mortal! Check out this video, and especially look at Mariah Carey in a bikini!

Still, At Our Earliest Age We Appreciate Beauty - even babies spend longer looking at pictures of people with smooth skin!

Nobody understands why, but beauty gets you in almost every door. Beautiful people get better jobs and earn more money.

The behavior of others actually changes when you look good.

Think for a moment about the power of extraordinary beauty- Helen of Troy started a 9 year war!

Nobody understands. All we can do is our best to work with what we've got and keep our skin in as good a shape as possible.

With that in mind, here are a few reasons we get wrinkles:

  • Invisible, low grade, inflammation
  • Eating the wrong foods
  • Emotional stress
  • Smoking
  • Air pollution
  • And, of course, gravity!
