USA Made Shoes

Updated on March 2, 2015

Made in USA - Shoes

One of the harder domestically made items to find is shoes. There are very few US based shoe manufacturers left. I am making an effort to buy US made products for my family whenever I have that option. In some categories it is impossible to find made in USA options, but luckily we have a few options when looking to buy American made shoes. I am always looking for new brands to add here, so if you know of a shoe made in the USA that is not listed, please let me know in the comments area. I am always so happy with the quality of these US made shoes, and I'm sure you will be too! Happy shopping!

Johansen Shoes
Johansen Shoes

Johansen Shoes: Made in the USA for 135 years!

Made in Virginia

Johansen has made their shoes here in the USA since 1876. Their high quality shoes for dress, business or casual come in a huge selection of sizes. I can really appreciate this as I wear a woman's size 11 AA. It is so hard to find nice shoes that fit me well. Their women's shoes are available in sizes between 4 and 13. The men's sizes range from 7 to 16.

New Balance

New Balance has a good selection of shoes that are made in the USA. Some of them are not though so keep that in mind when You are shopping. My experience has been that I find getting USA made shoes for my husband and I to be fairly easy, but that in finding them in kids sizes I have yet to be successful.

Fernand Shoes

Hand Made in Northern Michigan

Here are some really sharp looking shoes manufactured here in Michigan. They will custom make you a pair to a tracing of your foot. Thay have a nice variety of shoes and sandals from which to choose.

Soft Star

Soft Star shoes are moccasin style shoes available for kids as well as adults. These shoes are eco-friendly as well as being developmentally friendly for growing feet. The are custom made, so are also good for people who have less common shoe sizes. They are great for those interested in barefoot running.

My fave Harley-Davidson styles used to be made in the USA. Now, they come from China; still very high quality, tho.

Evidently not, I know the best pair of boots I ever owned were made my Mason Shoes out of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin but they appear to have went the way of every other manufacturer... outsourcing to other brands and closing their shoe making facility. Bummer.

I don't know of others, in fact your list was quite helpful.

I find it very interesting that so many people don't know that solving the economic and jobs crisis lies in there own hands, not the government's. Simply refusing to buy products not made in the US would change the situation, with no government intervention or spending.

Thanks for this USA Made list. Huge fan of Munro shoes especially since they are family owned as well as made in America. They have definitely withstood the test of time. Discovered a YouTube video that showcases their collection - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-UVoEkiYwo

I wear New Balance, and I used to wear another US brand that went under because it didn't move manufacturing overseas. Wish they'd been able to hang on - jobs are really needed here at home.

It seems like almost everyone is outsourcing these days, its good to see that a few companies are hanging in there.
