Reasonable HDTVs To Buy

Updated on February 9, 2016

The TV market is competitive. It seems as if there are more brands and options than ever before. Whether you are looking for an impressive TV for your main living room, or you just want something nice for a rec room or a den, the decision making process can be lengthy when you consider the different brands, features and options that are involved.

Read on to find out more about some quality products from top brands that are currently available for sale. All of the items featured have ratings of 4 stars or better from Amazon consumers, and they cost less than $1000.

Samsung

Samsung has a 50 Inch LED TV available for sale with free shipping. There are also options for four and five year protection plans and professional mounting. This model comes with two HDMI ports and one USB input. The Samsung product also features something called ConnectShare, which enables you to play movies from a camera or camcorder. All you have to do is connect your device and then it is time to share! In addition, this TV enables you to access files from a flash drive or external hard drive. For example, imagine you are having some friends or family over for a get-together at your house. If you have photos or videos to show your guests from a trip you just took recently, you can easily hook up a flash drive or other product to the TV and show your pictures and files right in your living room!

Samsung also features DTS Premium Sound, which enables you to enjoy good sound quality while the system decodes DTS encoded content for you. Of course, sound isn't the only concern when you are looking for a nice TV! I am sure you will think that the picture is a big deal! Luckily, the Samsung model I have highlighted has a full 1080p resolution for a crisp and clear image. This particular J5000 model offers a resolution twice as high as a standard HDTV! The J5000 also has something called Motion Rate 60, which features a quick refresh rate that gives you a clear picture that can adjust to fast action sequences. In addition, Motion Rate 60 has a very nice processing speed and backlighting technology. The wide color enhancer in this product gives you enriched color and brightness. Within the last seven months, reviewers have called this model a great value and a product with a wonderful picture and easy set up!

LG

Like the Samsung model I mentioned previously, this LG model also has free shipping, and has a four or five year replacement plan available in addition to mounting services. The nice thing is this 50 inch LED TV has a 1080p resolution like the Samsung model that I featured. The even better thing is that this TV is affordable. One feature that separates the LG model from the Samsung model mentioned before is that the LG offers energy efficiency, with an average cost of just $9 per year to run it. LG also offers TruMotion120Hz technology, which allows even the fastest action from video games or sports to be crystal clear and blur free. A positive review on Amazon said that it was just what they were looking for, as it is a basic non complicated features TV. Another Amazon reviewer pointed out that there are lots of ways to adjust the picture, which allows anyone who buys this to tailor it to his or her personal preferences. Other comments on the Amazon site include that the TV is terrific, has a great price, and is good for sports and video games!

Currently, the product is listed at about $498 and there is even 6 month financing available! There is no pixel loss with this TV! You will be able to enjoy high resolution images like you wouldn't before! As the site says, you can experience amazing brightness, clarity and color detail!

LG stands for Life's Good. I have bought other LG products besides TVs before, and they have always seemed to work well. Check out the options on the Amazon website and see what you can find. In addition to the TV I mentioned, the company also offers a lot of other great technology products. You won't be disappointed!

Sony

So far I have examined some good functional all around TVs, but in today's day and age, many people like the functionality and options that the smart TV brings. One thing to note is that Sony has a 48 inch LED model with smart TV capabilities. Like all the others I have previously featured, free shipping and replacement plans are available for these units as well as mounting options. While this particular model is two inches smaller than the others I have mentioned, it has two HDMI and two USB ports, which is more than what the others offered. This Sony model has a very nice slim design, which will make it look sharp wherever you place it. I personally believe you will love the difference that the Sony Clear Resolution Enhancer offers. If you buy this TV, you will be able to see enhanced features on flat surfaces such as blades of grass! The normal picture noise is also reduced. This TV allows you to stream Netflix, YouTube and more great sites! Some comments from Amazon reviewers include a person who said this particular item has great sound and great screen quality. While that is impressive, another reviewer said that this TV is everything and more!

In addition to being able to experience a great brand name like Sony, you can't beat the fact that you can buy this particular Sony Brand TV for about $478.This four star rated Amazon product is absolutely a great buy! One unfortunate thing is that this TV is 48 inches which is just slightly less than the previous 50 Inch products I have reviewed in this article. The important thing to remember though is that this Sony model that I have featured is a smart TV. Let's be honest who doesn't love the features of a smart TV? For the amount of money you are paying this Sony TV is a great buy. This article is not entirely focused on smart TVs but you can definitely find a great deal with this purchase!

Vizio

Vizio has a 50 Inch LED smart TV model on Amazon with some great features. All of the standard shipping, replacement plans and mounting are available for this model just like the others I have mentioned. This Vizio TV has one USB port and 3 HDMI ports which should be able to accommodate all your media needs. With this Vizio model there are 16 active LED zones for better brightness and blacker blacks! With the built in Wi Fi that this TV has, you can use the services of Amazon, Hulu, Vudu, Spotify, iHeartRadio and Pandora as well as the services of Netflix and YouTube that I mentioned Sony can access. While I do not know how much you would actually spend time using the TV unit, I do know that the estimated energy usage for this particular model is only $12 a year! Recent comments on the Amazon site indicated that this TV is easy to assemble and also very light, making it great for those who try to carry it or move it. Another reviewer indicated that this is the second Vizio product that has been in the house and there has not been one single issue in 5 years. While Vizio does a good job when it comes to consumer ratings, I thought it was fantastic when I read what one reviewer said. The reviewer went on to say that this Vizio product is an excellent TV with a beautiful picture and that it is Heaven on Earth!

Personally I do not spend much time watching TV, but I do know that Vizio is considered an elite company. In this article feature, I have highlighted a few choices. Of course you can do you own homework and check out some other brands, but above all, I really felt like the Vizio product offered the best value and features.

As you can see, you can go all out and get a smart TV, or you can get something simpler. When making a TV purchase, keep in mind what you are looking to do with the product or what you want to get out of the TV. While the choices and various unique product characteristics may vary as I described, you can also check out other brands not featured in this article such as Toshiba and RCA. The general consensus is that most consumers are getting LED TVs, which I reviewed in this publication. Plasma or LCD TVs are not as popular. There are even TV models available with parental controls, child locks, sleep timers and a built in DVD player. Enjoy shopping as you try to find something that fits you!
