A Closer Look at All-in-One Computers

Updated on November 6, 2013

My Personal Computer

Even before I started doing online marketing, I consider my desktop computer as one of my most important tools. Partnered with Internet access, it has been a constant and valuable source of information from my graduate studies days up to the present. I've been able to write reports, make presentations, view and make videos, and many more with the help of my PC. However, I do feel that I will need a hardware upgrade pretty soon. You see my present PC is a tad bit outdated and still runs on an old Windows XP operating system.

Due to limited space, I've been on the lookout for All-in-One (AIO) computers. Just when I thought that this was a new technology, I was surprised to find out that the original Macintosh of the mid-1980s and the iMac of the late 1990s and 2000s are early examples of AIO PCs.

What are all-in-one computers?

They are desktop computers wherein the monitor is in the same case as the other internal components of the computer. They are more portable than desktop computers and can be unplugged and transported easily to a new location.

Older models of AIO PCs lacked the capacity for upgrade or hardware customization. However, manufacturers seemed to have addressed this issue.

In this hub, I will take a closer look at selected AIO PCs that I found on Amazon. Hopefully, it would also help me decide on a good replacement for my old computer.

Hi, I think I would go for the dell or vizio, I don't like touch screens, and looking at your poll I think others feel the same. With dell I know its going to be reliable as many of my friends use that one, great hub though, and something thats useful to me as I need a new one, thanks nell

I voted for the Sony L series system you listed. I just liked the balance of computing power, screen size, and price. I think I would also personally find the Sony software useful.

The Vizio is a very powerful machine, taking into account that this is an all-in-one. 27-inch sreen, Intel 4-core processor, Massive amount of System Memory and large Hard Drive capacity.

Either of the two look good

Wow! These are all great computers. I would not be able to provide a reliable answer. I have a Fujitsu touch screen computer that I absolutely love.

If I had to pick an all-in-one right now, I would pick the VIZIO. I like the toucheable bezzeled area because it will cut down on fingerprints and I like the fact that you can mount it on the wall. I never look at price when searching for a new computer, because functionality is most valuable to me, so if I can't buy a computer with the functions I like, then I wait until I can afford it. Otherwise, I'll be distraught the whole time I'm using the thing. That's just me.

Of course, you will have to come back to let us know which one you picked.
