What is Crowdtap?

Have you ever heard of Crowdtap, or seen the name on a blog or on twitter and wondered what it was? It's only one of the funnest and most rewarding sites I've come across as a Stay at Home Mom. Don't worry, you don't have to be a stay at home mom to reap the benefits from Crowdtap. It's also one of the only sites that is geared towards men as well as women. So what is it?

It's an influencer marketing platform, enabling leading brands to easily identify, utilize, and manage us, their influential consumers, for real time insights and powerful online and offline peer to peer marketing. Let's face it, everyone knows how important word of mouth is when spreading the positive and/or negative about a product/company/brand etc.

Crowdtap is a like a matchmakers for brands and customers. It's truly one of the best experiences I've had in brand advocacy, and you're totally rewarded in more ways than you can imagine.

What Goes on at Crowdtap

Crowdtap is 100% free to sign up. You never have to pay anything. Once you sign up, you are of course asked several questions to form a profile. This is mainly demographical questions. This gives them a better understanding of brands you may be interested in learning more about, trying out, and promoting about. It only takes a few minutes to complete your profile. Once that is done you are immediately thrown in there to start tapping away. There are several different activities that go on at Crowdtap. Each of them is far from boring, they are quick to complete, and you're always looking for more. When you log into your dashboard, first of all, it's very simple to navigate the site as the interface is totally user friendly for anyone. You will see in your dashboard 3 links. Quick Hits, Missions, and Actions.

Quick Hits

Quick Hits are the fastest activities on your agenda, and as you can see in the photo, it will have a number to the side of each category telling you how many you have to complete. The quick hits are short 1 question polls in which you earn on average 25 to 50 points.

You will also see web shares in this category in which you will tweet and/or post about a product or brand or sometimes even a commercial. For each web share up to 5 you earn usually 25 points.....HOWEVER if 5 people click you link to view the share, you earn a cool 800 points.

An example of this was when the Olympics were in full force you would see a tweet about voting for a @TeamVisaAthlete.....USA of course, and you would simply share the tweet or a facebook post letting people know they could vote for out olympians.

Missions

Missions is very fun to me. They are simply challenges that you get to unlock by completing other challenges. These are high point earners fro 1,000 points up to 10,000 points per mission. Some of the missions include promoting (referring friends), participating in moderated discussions and giving great ideas, giving a great report on a Sample and Share, reports from a hosted party (that's right you get free products for you and friends to try out), etc.

Actions

Actions is where all the real fun is. This is where you will find opportunities to host a sponsored party for you and friends, get tons of points for doing simple things like taking a photo of a brand logo while you're out and about, receiving samples of products for sample and shares, etc.

I've done some of all of these so my examples include the Old Navy Fall Fashion party I got to host. This included me and 3 of my friends who EACH received a coupon for 1 skirt, 1 scarf, and 1 cardigan EACH totally free. All we had to do was snap some photos of us trying on the fall fashion clothes and share about it.

I've also been able to get in on a couple of sample and shares including receiving free samples of Woolite to try and share with friends which also came with some great coupons.

Another type of action I have done was to snap a photo of myself outside of a local AT&T store......and another of my son trying on a pair of sneakers at FinishLine including the logo somewhere in the photo. That's it, and mega points people. I did the Finish Line one while I was school shopping with the kiddos.

Who Works with Crowdtap?

Crowdtap has some of the biggest clients in brands so if you're wondering what company's you're going to get to work with, you won't be disappointed. They include but aren't limited to:

  • AT&T
  • Verizon
  • Old Navy
  • Visa
  • Microsoft
  • Pepperidge Farm
  • Playtex
  • Woolite
  • and many more..

You said rewards???

As if being rewarded with free products and free clothes isn't enough, you get tons of points for sharing about your experiences from Crowdtap. There has to be something to redeem with those points right? Right!

The rewards that are available include my favorite kind Amazon Gift Cards. LOVE Amazon. They also have some gift cards and gift card codes to a few other online stores. I don't ever redeem those because the aren't stores I ever shop at. If you are looking for a way to donate to charity, there is an option for that as well. As a matter of fact, you get to pick a charity to donate to on sign up. For instance, my charity of choice was Invisible Children.
