Fast Fix for Many Apple iPhone issues - Hard Reset your iPhone

Updated on September 18, 2010

The iPhone has become more and more popular in the past few years and is not one of the biggest selling wireless devices in the world.  Though it is a great device, it can be frustrating when it starts to act up as well.  The #1 thing that you can do to solve all kinds of iPhone issues is what is known as a "hard reset."  This will re-boot the phone and is the GO TO trouble shooting step that pretty much all Apple technicians.  Just follow the steps below.

Please try to hold the home button and the sleep button simultaneously for at least 20 seconds or until you see a Silver apple logo

The red shut down slider will show up at the top of the screen and then disappear. Keep holding the buttons. The screen may even go black, but don’t let go of the buttons until the Apple logo shows up. When it appears, let the buttons go and the phone will start up normally.

This can solve many issues with the device and is the first thing you should try when your phone freezes or is acting up in general (blank screen, call issues, e-mail or SMS issues etc.)
