Flip UltraHD Video Camera Review
Flip UltraHD is the 3rd generation video recorder from the #1 pocket video camera maker in the world. This latest generation promise to bring smoother video, sturdy yet sleek design, and flexible battery source options.
There is not much change in the appearance of the third generation Flip UltraHD except it’s a little bit thinner. All the buttons and controls are right where they are in the previous generation except the HDMI port that became a micro HDMI port and moved to the base next to the Flip port. It can shoot 1280 x 720p video at 60 fps. The image stabilization truly helps produce a smoother and higher quality video but the color and contrast suffered so it depends on your preference. Some may like this new feature but others may walk away. There is no still shot capability, special effects or SD card expansion.
Another great change that can be considered as an advantage is the flexibility to use either 3 AAA batteries or the lithium-ion rechargeable pack. The alkaline batteries can get you two hours of shooting and 1.5 hour on the rechargeable pack. A lot of video enthusiasts are going to like this.
Sharing the videos from Flip UltraHD is a breeze just like other Flip video camcorder. There are also many accessories to choose from like underwater casing, tripods, or even wide angle lens. The FlipShare now supports video upload to Twitter and compatible to either PC or Mac.
Overall, Flip UltraHD is another great video camcorder for shooting high quality videos and well worth the investment.
