In this battle there is no clear winner. Depending on your needs and wants will ultimately determine your decision in choosing one service over the other. What most people forget to take into account is the ability to use both these services together.

These products have the ability to work together by simple buying a Skype phone number and setting that up. Once this has been set up you can then sign up for Google Voice and set that up. Once this has been completed you'll need to forward any incoming phone calls from your Google Voice phone number to your Skype phone number, as well as to any other mobile or land line phone.
