Gadgets: Atomic Projection Clock Forecasts the Weather
As difficult as it is to get out of bed early in the morning it can get worse. It is not a pleasant surprise when the weather takes a turn towards winter during the night. Arriving late to work is never a good thing – but when there is newly fallen snow and ice covering everything what are you to do about it?
Not much except to be more prepared. Wouldn’t it be nice to have warning of things to come? Is that really possible?
I cannot count the times that we went to bed with multiple alarms set. Some battery powered and some plugged into the wall. If the power went out during the night we were still sure to wake up on time. It always worked – we always woke up on time.
Setting multiple clocks is a thing of the past since we started buying atomic clocks. If the power goes off and then comes back on the time is automatically reset – to the correct time every time.
It looks like there will be another clock upgrade in my home. There are atomic clocks and then there are atomic clocks on steroids. I have already bought one that tells the inside and outdoor temperature and even one that projects the time on the wall or ceiling. Now there is one that does even more.
The “Honeywell PCR426W” has more features than any other atomic clock that I have seen in the past. Here are some of the best ones.
- Time, Weather and Weather Forecast is projected onto the wall or ceiling
- Automatically sets its own time according to the US Atomic Clock in Fort Collins, Colorado
- Backlit LCD
- Ice Warning can be programmed to wake you up early
- Low battery warning
- Multi-lingual
- Plug-in or Battery Power

A clock like this can actually save you time in the mornings. How many times have you had to run back into the house for a heavier jacket or an umbrella? If I wake up in the middle of the night it is great to see the time displayed on the ceiling. It lets me know that I have time to dose back off to sleep and I do not spend time worrying about what time it really is.
