Google Chrome Addons

Google has finally released some amazing Chrome Addons!
Google has finally released some amazing Chrome Addons!

Introduction to Google Chrome Addons

Google Chrome has been around for quite a while now, I actually downloaded it on it's release date, in January 2009. Since that initial release Google Chrome has become my most used web browser, in conjunction with Firefox. Chrome is smooth, simple and quick, it did however have a downside. No Google Toolbar to check my page rank, no StumbleUpon or Digg, none of the little addons or Google Extensions which made Firefox such a successful browser.

Fortunately, things have just changed for Google users around the globe. in the latest release of Google Chrome, Google have allowed Google Chrome Extensions, which basically allows you to add a huge variety of addons to your Google Chrome web browser, greatly increasing its functionality, without cluttering it's simple interface.

So Why Should I Download Google Chrome Addons?

Google Chrome Addons are not required to run Google Chrome, in some cases you would be better off without them (If for instance you wished to keep Google Chrome clean and simple).

For most of us however, a little extra functionality in Google Chrome makes the browser more flexible, and easier to use. A Google Chrome Extension can give you the tools you need right at your fingertips, saving you time and effort, it can also keep you notified on the latest news, or speed up your browsing with a few little tricks.

For the sake of a small download you could massively reduce the time spent opening different websites, clicking buttons and even following your RSS feeds.

So what are the Best Google Chrome Addons?

i have compiled a list of my top addons at my Best Chrome Addons page, but I will give you a few of my favorite Google Chrome Addons right here. Each addon is a personal choice however, and you may find that some Chrome Addons are more useful to you than they would be for me!

If the three Chrome addons below are not enough, I have created a list of the Best Google Chrome Addons

Gmail Chrome Addon

Gmail Chrome Addon

The Gmail Chrome extension is one of the best chrome addons because it gives you a handy litlte button in the top right of your screen which allows you to keep track of your gmail inbox. This handy little Gmail Chrome Addon is one of the most used Chrome Addon in the world, despite being so simple.

Google AdBlock

Google Adblock Chrome Addon

When Chrome was first released it was near immediately shot down by Firefox fans, not only for its lack of Chrome extensions, but also for its lack of an advert blocker. Fortunately Google Chrome AdBlock has been released, a brilliant Chrome Addon which prevents a huge number of popups and adverts from appearing on webpages.

I have to admit, I am personally never too bothered about ad blockers per-say, I only ever really get annoyed when my popup blocker doesn't work. For many people though this Google Chrome Addon is essential!

Google Translate Chrome Extension

Google Chrome Extensions have given s the fantastic Google Translate function as a Chrome Addon.

Google Chrome Addons - Google Translate

Some people may have expected me to put an RSS feed tool in here, maybe Google's Twitter Extension. I however rarely use those things. What I do find particularly useful on many occasions is Firefox's Google Toolbar with Google Translate. As soon as I had seen this Chrome extension I immediately downloaded it!h

Google Translate opens up a whole new world of websites and resources to you, which comes in especially useful when you often have to research things which happen abroad (like I often do!)

Great hub about Google Chrome! I'm a huge Firefox advocate, but I may try Chrome and see what it is like. Thanks for the walkthrough :)
