Updated on June 25, 2011

Windmills Gone Bad

Gear oil failures in windmills

These photos represent what can happen when transmission failures occur in windmills. To date no gear oil has been invented to withstand the pressures produced within the transmissions. Most recently, there was a big grant given by the government to Dow-Corning to work on this matter.

The cons and pros

This article shows other aspects of the windmills and wildlife in Wisconsin. It's a lot of controversy of what the technology does in helping and what other damages can occur from it's presence!

The Origin of Windmills

Initially the windmills were created to help with milling grain.

As the time progressed so did the technology. the exploration of what wind can do increased interest of today's lifestyle and pressure to save the Earth. The new developments took the windmills to a different level. A windmill used to generate electricity is referred to as a wind turbine.

Other Alternatives

On-farm wind power

Sometimes the technology we use to our benefits get work against us too.

It looks like the intensity of this fire was helped by... what else, The Wind?

It is always the same with new products on the market, for a while - it's more like a trial time to work out the bugs!

Got to work out the bugs. Still more natural disaster safe than regulating the Nuclear Power Field. Keep up the Green Wisconsin.
