You can never go wrong with Alienware!

The Best Laptop

There are many reviews for finding economical laptops, but what if you just want pure power, with a price is no object mindset. Well, if you want the best, here is where I will help you find the ultimate gaming machine.

The first on our list is the Alienware M17X. This beauty has a 17 inch (1600 by 900 pixels) LED backed display. It is powered by an Intel Core i7 quad core processor running at 2.13 GHz, and 8 GB of ram. The display is powered by a CrossFireX ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 Graphics card with an additional Gigabyte of ram. There is a 1280 GB hard drive, enough to store over a thousand movies with plenty left over disk space for all the games you could ever want. Alienware is the premiere gaming brand and includes things like powerful built in speakers (plus an internal sub-woofer) with 5.1 surround sound output jack, 4 USB ports, and a 8X DVD reader and burner. This is a hefty 12 pound laptop and is also used as a portable desktop by professional gamers.

Second Place

The next best laptop is the Asus Republic of Gamers 17 inch Gaming Laptop. Although not as well known for gaming as Alienware, Asus has put out a top notch laptop here. Specifications include Intel i7-740QM (1.73GHz Quad-Core with Turbo Boost up to 2.93GHz) processor, 8GB of DDR3 1066MHz Ram, a 1TB (500G 7200RPM x2) Hard Drive, ATI 5870 Graphics with a full gigabyte of GDDR5 ram, Blue-Ray Disk Combo Drive, 802.11 b/g/n Wifi, and a 17.3-Inch Full HD LED Display (1920 x 1080 pixels).

One unusual thing about this laptop is that it uses the new USB 3.0 ports, which is really nice if you are transferring movies over from on external USB hard drive. Normally, it can take several hours to transfer a couple hundred movies over with USB 2.0, but with USB 3.0, you can do this same transfer in just a few minutes. Also great if you tend to do a lot of large file transfers using flash drives.

Third Place

Our third place winner is a bit more portable. It is the Alienware M15X laptop. Specifications for this machine is an Intel Quad CoreTM i7-720QM processor, 4GB DDR3 ram, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M graphics with an additional gigabyte of video ram, 320GB Sata drive, 15.6" HD display (1600 x 900 pixels resolution). This laptop has 3 USB ports, dual speakers and a 5.1 surround sound output jack. This laptop weighs 9 pounds and is a bit easier to carry around than the high end 17 inch laptops.

Amazon has an excellent selection of gaming laptops. They are a large company with an excellent reputation. You can save a significant amount of money compared to buying from other sources. For Alienware computers, this will typically save you about 5-10% on costs, compared to buying directly from them.
