Search Engine Optimization

Search Engine Optimization uses many different techniques, both online and offline, to increase the traffic of a blog or a website. When people use search engines such as Google, Yahoo, or Bing, they use keywords to find what they are looking for. For example, perhaps there is a person who is thinking of having KFC delivered to his or her house but does not know the delivery number or the menu then he/she will type "KFC Delivery Menu" or "KFC delivery number" on a search engine. Now what bloggers or website owners want is to rank on these search engines, meaning to be on the top or at least the front page of the search engine results. For example my article for KFC delivery Philippines has been in the Google front page for a long time and this is the same thing you want to achieve.

There are many ways to get this and one of the very important ways would be to use the keywords in the title of your blog. This is one of the techniques that search engines use to find relevant search results.

Another technique is to get a lot of backlinks. Backlinks are links that lead to your page and the more you have those then the more the search engines will think that your page is relevant.

There are a lot of other search engine optimization techniques and you should read more about it and surely you will be able to get more traffic in your blog or website.

How to Increase the Traffic of your Blog

But you have to also think about the quality of your posts. Aside from SEO or Search Engine Optimization, you have to remember that there are a lot of bloggers or website owners out there who have no knowledge in SEO or how search engines work but still get a lot of traffic to their blog or website because their posts and content are high quality and very relevant. So you have to make sure that your posts or articles are high quality, original and unique, and at the same time relevant to the needs of your readers.

You should also put a lot of photos or videos in your blog or website. The attention span of internet users are very short and they would want to get direct answers to their queries. So they would prefer a lot of photos and videos especially now that YouTube and other video services online are so popular. Video marketing is a very important part of increasing the traffic and revenues of your blog. You have to remember that a lot of bloggers are gaining popularity because of "Vlog" or video blog posts.

Use Social Networking Sites to Increasing Blog Traffic

Social networking is another one of the best ways to increase traffic in your blog. Posting links in these sites such as Facebook or Twitter can instantly get you a lot of clicks from your friends and followers especially if your posts are high quality and relevant to their needs. So if you still don't have accounts in the different social networking sites then you have to start signing up now and start getting friends and followers to add you. Every time you make a new post they will instantly be updated.

You also need to sign up to Blog Pinging websites. Blog pinging websites "ping" search engines and other websites to tell them that new content has been posted on your blog or website and that they need to index your page again. Most blogging websites will do this for you automatically every time you post but it is better to reinforce this technique by signing up on other blog pinging websites. You also have to make sure your site is indexed by Google and Yahoo in their blog directories because this is another way to make readers easily find your website or blog on the internet.

These aren't the only techniques and there are many other ways to increase traffic to your website or blog. Continue reading on these tutorials that I have posted and follow the steps and you will be earning money through blogging in no time.
