Updated on August 27, 2010

Are you annoyed by the amount of advertising on the Internet? There is an easy way to block a majority of those annoying ads you see on web sites using a simple browser plug-in. It will block thousands of ads and all it takes is a few clicks to install. And if you want to, you can easily choose to override the blocked ads on a particular page or web site, as well as create custom rules to block the few ads that may get by the standard filters.

Adblock Plus is FREE and available for the following web browsers: Firefox, Firefox Mobile, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, Songbird and Prism.

Here is how you can block web ads in about one minute:

  • Step 1: Visit and click on Install Adblock Plus
  • Step 2: Click on "Allow"
  • Step 3: Click on "Install Now"
  • Step 4: Restart Firefox
  • Step 5: Select filter (choose the first one)

And now your ads are blocked! Visit your favorite site to verify that it is working.
