Setting up apache , mysql and php

What is Apache, php and MySQL ?

Apache is a web server. A web server is a system which server web pages. In simple terms when you open browser , type in a domain name and hit enter. Your browser sends am http request to the corresponding web server and web server returns the web page that was requested.

Apache performs the role of accepting request for pages and serving the corresponding web pages.

MySQL is the database server . This server maintains a database. Most big websites use a database for storing data. When user submits content data goes to database. When user retrieves pages data comes from database.

PHP : PHP is a server side language ie, it gets executed at the server and only the result gets send to browser.Installing php libraries in web server gives the ability to process php pages by web server.

How do I install all these ?

You can either download all these and install one by one.ie, install Apache, configure php , install MySQL.

I just did this but using XAMPP. Now I am working on dynamic website development using PHP and MySQL. This is a quick, easy, and inexpensive way to set up your own Apache server for development use!
