My Top 5 IPhone Apps
Check out some of my favorite IPhone Apps
So I have had my Iphone since..... I don't remember, about 5 months or so after they came out and one of my guilty pleasures is being an App whore. I browse the app store every couple of hours for new apps or updates and get all excited like a mexican jumping bean when there is a little red circle indicating that one of my favorite games has an update. So I thought I would share my top 5 apps that DON'T include games because that will be my next hub. All of these Apps are Free so don't worry, even you can afford it....if you have an IPhone.

Weather Channel App Poll
Do you like this app?
The Weather Channel
Well like the name says, its a weather app that replaces your standard weather app. The Weather Channel app is so much better because it gives you a much wider view of the weather and lets you break down the days into hours. It also lets you go into a radar view that lets you see a Google maps type view up high showing radar for whatever condition you are looking for. The filter allow the radar to track snow, rain, heat, clouds, UV, feels like, and a bunch of other stuff including places of interest. There is a video button that by your location will do a quick little local news weather report right on your phone. I found it very helpful during winter when I was trying back and forth from Seattle to my home in Bellingham and I was able to bring up the radar and see where snow was hitting the hardest and where I was going. Also, it was nice that the severe weather alert icon would pop up if there was a snow storm coming up or sudden rains. I highly recommend this app because of its ability to take over your weather needs and offer a lot more than you thought you would need in weather. Who doesn't care about the weather? The only draw back I think it has is that it doesn't quickly go from location to location like the standard app, you have to actually go into a list to change the location.

Do you enjoy staying connected with the Facebook app
Those of you who use Facebook which is a growing number would love this app. It is another free app that puts Facebook right on your phone and keeps you updated with all your homies. You can take pictures and upload them right from your phone. When you get a notification a little red circle pops up telling you that it needs attention. It even supports the chat feature so you can stay connected on the go. It has most functions as the full based website but doesn't allow you to view groups and mess with Facebook apps. Another setback is that I notice that it sometimes duplicates friend updates or doesn't show all updates. I noticed this more when Facebook changed their website to the current layout. If you like staying connected with your friends this is one of the best ways to do it. I find myself updating more on my phone than I do with the website....and sending love notes to Mr. Pages.

Shazam App Poll
Do you like tagging up songs with the Shazam App
Have you ever heard a song somewhere and you are like "Oh my sweet lordy lord I love this song....what's the name of it?" Then you go home and try to find it but can't remember it. Well this nice little app lets you tag any song just by loading it up and hitting one button. Give it about 8 seconds and let it think a sec and SHAZAM, you got the song it's playing. The nice thing about it is how easy it is to use. You hit your app button, you hit tag now and it does the rest. Once it finds the song it gives you a ton of options to either download it from Itunes, bring up a Youtube video of the song, artist info, and all kinds of other goodies. After it tags it, it keeps it in a list so when you get home you can go home and check back to see what songs you need to download. I love this app and I use it all the time. Anyone who can't ever remember and older song grab this app and go to town.

Anyone with the world wide internetz knows that when you don't know something, the first thing you do is go to Wiki, type it in, and now you know cultural difference in the uses of a woman's placenta......moving on. Wikipanion allows you to have the power of Wikipedia in your hand at all times. Its a perfect little handy app, whenever I am out doing something and something catches my eye or I wonder about something, I find myself going to Wikipanion rather than Google. As you type it brings up options to choose from and once in the article there are options to bookmark, a go to option that picks different sections, sub categories, and the option to change many different settings or preferences. If you use Wiki there is no reason you shouldn't have this app, it gives you a ton of info the your pocket and you can blow minds away and win bets with this app.

Flixter App poll
Did You Find Flixter helpful?
Finally we have Flixster which is an app that allows you to check our movies playing or coming out on DVD. Have you ever gone to your girlfriend's family reunion and you realize that clawing your eyes out isn't really an option so you want to go see a movie but you don't know where to go? Well luckily you can retreat into the bathroom after getting the runs from something you thought was a meal and boot up Flixter and it will automatically find local theatres based on your location. This is really nice because you can find a theatre, bring up the address, then load it up on google maps all in a few clicks. If browsing by theatres isn't your cup of horchata then you can also browse by current movies. Once you find a movie, you just click find a theatre and it will find a theatre where its playing. Flixter also has a DVD option that if you are at your local video shop you can see what Flixter recommends or whats new out on the town. After finding DVDs or movies you can move them into your own personal movie profile to keep track of one you really love. All of these options work perfectly together and they allow you to make favorites, tell a friend, and organize your movie experience. This has saved me plenty of times when I'm out and around and I'm like, sup girl you wanna catch a flick? This allows me to whip it out....my phone and see what my options are. I highly recommend this for people who like to check out movies while on the go.
