Netbook Review Acer Aspire One
A couple of months ago i decided to increase my hub production but realised quite quickly that a lot of the time my wife would be on our main laptop talking to friends on face-book,or doing work which meant that when a hub idea came to me i would have to write down my ideas and keep them until the laptop was free.So i decided to start the unenviable task of searching for a cheap but usable second laptop or net-book.What i wanted was something small and portable but also with enough memory and a good screen. It had to be a net-book as they were the smallest laptops around and after much research it came down to two netbooks, the dell inspiron mini and the Acer aspire one. When reading reviews the main reason for me picking the Acer was down to battery life, the Acer can go for 7hours without a charge which is handy should i wish to create a hub and am away without the charger.I will give you a review of the Acer Aspire One and what i think of its performance so far so you can make your own mind up on what net-book you should purchase.
Acer Aspire One
Processor
The processor is a new Intel atom n280 this processor offers way less noise and also less heat, despite being faster than its predecessor there is a downside, which is that you are not going to be able to watch hd videos on it,you can but unfortunately they wont play that well. For day to day Internet usage the little acer is superb, you can be using various other applications as well as browsing the Internet and it handles it very well without any lag or slowing down.
Functions
The keyboard is 89% of full size and has had a revamped trackpad and buttons, its fast and easily usable,it only takes a few minutes to get your fingers up to speed and used to it,after that its a doddle, the screen is a much brighter and clearer screen than the first one and is brilliant to watch movies on,it does however have a piano black finish that can get dirty with finger prints etc,but aside from that it really is a beautiful and functional machine.
Battery Life
The battery life on this model is outstanding, with a 6 cell battery it can offer you up to 7 hours without a charge, and that is still whilst you are browsing the internet,it only takes 2-3 hours to give the battery a full charge and when its up and running at full power you can take it overnight somewhere and not necessarily need the battery pack.
