Is Phone Card Smile a Reliable Phone Card Company?

Buying phone cards on the Internet is a great way to save money on all of your International phone calls. Not to mention it's really conveienent and easy. But search for a reliable phone card company is key to avoiding and problems.

Phone Card Smile is one of the most well known phone card companies available on the Internet. They're one of the first companies I've started using because they were easily found when I did a google search on phone cards.

From the start everything looks pretty good. They have a professional website with very easy to use search functions. But one of the biggest surprises is they offer the largest choicest of phone card selections.

But the biggest question of all on your's and everyone elses mind is "Are their phone cards reliable?"

My Personal Review

As I mentioned earlier, Phone Card Smile's website is very user friendly and professional looking, which is always a good sign. They offer their customers reward points so they can eventually earn free phone cards. Which is great for me since I do use a lot of phone cards for personal and business purposes.

One other benefit or if you want to call it that is they have automatic discounts. It's just a few pennies but when you purchase more at one time you get more discounts.

But there is a problem that I have which prevents me from recommending this company to anyone, especially when they're first time buyers.

Just like any other phone card company, Phone Card Smile has card with fees and without fees. But the only difference is Phone Card Smile's fees are vague and not up front. Here are a few sentences from the terms and conditions of one of their phone cards:

A WEEKLY MAINTENANCE FEE RANGING BETWEEN .49 AND .79. 2) A HANG-UP FEE RANGING BETWEEN .05 AND $1 DEPENDING UPON LENGTH AND DESTINATION OF THE CALL. 3) A DESTINATION SURCHARGE OF BETWEEN 0% AND 100%. - MINUTES AND/OR SECONDS ARE ROUNDED TO MULTIPLE MINUTE INCREMENTS"

Most people who've read my articles about phone cards know I only recommend people buy phone cards with no fees. Maintenance fees I don't mind as there are ways to work around it.

But their fees are really vague, as you can see above. I believe phone card details should be clear and easy to find and understand.

Their phone cards are reliable and I've never had any problems with them, but that's because I buy phone cards with no fees.

With that said, there are many other phone card companies with easy to read phone card details on the Internet to buy from without digging for details.
