Pinterest - The Virtual Pin Board

Updated on April 26, 2012

Pinterest is like scrapbooking only you do it online. You can pin anything and everything that you find interesting on the web. You can share your pin board to other Pinterest members or even share your pins on Facebook, Twitter, blogs and other websites. That way, you reach more audience. It is an image-based social networking site that is all the rave especially for women. It is a new venue for you to express you creativity and you passion and share it to the world.

Pinterest is not just a mere social networking site, it is also a good venue to earn money and promote your business.

You start by creating a board with a theme. Then you start pinning photos and images on that board. You manage and organize the board so that all images capture the essence of the topic or the theme. After which, you can share it to your friends and other people. Pinterest also allows you to browse other member’s profiles and get inspiration from their pins.

Aside from its similarity to scrapbooking, it can also be compared to how professional organizers do it when they are redecorating a closet or organizing an event. They use pin boards to keep things in perspective and organized. Now you can do the same using Pinterest. You can pin images and photos of a wedding event you are planning or you have done. You can also pin your secrets on cooking and recipes, just about anything and everything that interests you. For the business minded, you can pin your websites, blogs and other business tools so you can direct more traffic to your sites, expand your network and get more customers.

Pinterest is very popular to women but it doesn’t mean that anyone should not take advantage of the site’s business opportunities. With more than 10 million users, you will not find it hard to find people to d business with. From a simple home-based cupcake business to arts and crafts supplies, you will be able to find the right member.

The good news is Pinterest is now available as an app for your mobile gadgets so you can monitor and update your account to make sure that keep your followers interested in your content. With the mobile app, you can get connected to your Pinterest contacts anytime anywhere. Pinterest is not just a great creative venue but can be a good place for earning extra money and give your business a little boost.

I had heard about Pinterest but had no idea what it was (there are so many new social media sites being formed these days, it seems). So your Hub is both interesting and useful. Voted accordingly, and thank you.

Pinterest is a unique site, and can be a good tool in the online marketing arsenal. I "pinned" a Hub on planting roses a few weeks back and it has been pinned and re-pinned a few dozen times and I've picked up a bunch of followers because of it.
