The new Fiona Gaming Tablet 2012

Updated on February 21, 2013

The Newest Concept Tablet in Town

Project Fiona with touchscreen tablet is a new gaming tablet with 2 control wands that are strapped to either side of the screen.

Running Windows7 and Windows8 later on, this ten-point-one inch tablet that is between two gaming controllers, each with a thumb stick, dual triggers and 4 face buttons is coming your way in the 4th quarter of 2012.

Some are debating whether this gadget should be called a gaming high-end PC or a tablet.

Weight and size are still probably going to change before the final product is released.

The first 'true' tablet for gaming is manufactured by Razer, an accessories and game-products maker based in the California city of San Diego.

Nicked "Project Fiona" in Las Vegas at the 2012 CES, this is the first of its kind.

Of course, at the moment, there are a lot of tablets out in the market that feature application games like Fruit Ninja and Angry Birds.

Project Fiona, on the other hand, is created for serious gaming, giving you a similar experience you get on a gaming console or a desktop. These games include Space Marine and FireFall.

Keep in mind that Project Fiona is a device concept at the moment and its launching will no doubt be heavily dependent on the gaming community's feedback as well as the feedback from community gaming fans and experts in the industry.

Based on the feedback, Razer will enhance or make changes on the device to prepare for its launch eventually.

The current pictures of Project Fiona features its controllers hanging on either side but there is nothing certain other than that it will be running the Intel processor of the next generation.

One representative from Razer mentions that they are working closely with Intel, which is a decision that they have made.

The represented also mentions that the new Fiona Tablet will be launching the version for PC as well, rather than the version that is a tablet for Windows8.

For racing games, the tablet will also be coming with a gyroscope and an accelerometer.

Called the ultimate tablet for gaming, Project Fiona has 3 input methods into the device. These are the gyroscope, the touchscreen and the two side joysticks.

The company plans to launch Project Fiona sometime in the year two thousand twelve when enough good feedback is attained. The price point target is just under a thousand US Dollars.
