Remove Adware, Malware from your Computer with these Simple Steps

Updated on February 8, 2014

What's Adware, Malware?

Adware, malware and other similar names refer to malicious softwares that may be sneakily sent or installed in your PC if you happen to visit a suspicious site either intentionally or accidentally.

These sites could be mostly the ones which have adult or mature content, sites which solicit illegal product or proposals. Such malicious softwares are also distributed by many shady download sites which prompt the user to click on disguised download buttons having deceptive headings or keywords. Some gambling sites also are seen to be distributing these harmful softwares in the users computers.

Although adwares and malwares are not always necessarily harmful to our PCs, however these must be gotten rid of as soon as detected because as long as these elements stay in your computer, your computer could be vulnerable to password hacking and an easy target for the potential hackers.

These malicious softwares could also hijack your site's advertisements with their own illicit Ads and create annoying pop ups while you surf the internet. If you happen to click on one of these forced advertisements, could result in the entry of additional malwares and also generate passive income for the infringer who has distributed the software.

How do You Know that your PC is infected with Adware and Malware?

There could be many indications which can be detected for the presence of adwares or malwares.

If you see suspicious advertisements, pop-ups appearing frequently while you surf the internet, you can assume a possible infiltration.

You would also possibly see the normal family friendly sidebar advertisements of different websites getting replaced with strange advertisements which could be adult by nature or illegal.

Mostly you would see advertisements consisting of Ads endorsing winning prizes and lotteries, viagra ads, lose weight in minute ads, gamble online ads etc.

If you have Adsense ads running on your website, you might see those ads getting hijacked and replaced with the above explained advertisements.

You would also find your computer loading time getting slower.

If you own a website, you would possibly even find the above suspicious ads appearing inside the control panel of your website and within the Iframes that you open.

All these indications would be enough to suspect a possible intrusion or infection of an Adware.

Where could these Malicious Elements Normally be Located in my PC

The malicious adwares and malwares are normally injected deep nto the roots of your computer such that removing it becomes very difficult via normal techniques.

Primarily these softwares would be installed in the control panel, and inside your computers browsers.

If you suspect a possible infection, immediately open your browser Extension page and look for any suspicious or unfamiliar Ad-on. You would ceratinly come across a few of them which could be similar to these:

ShopDroap

BiTsaver

TheBlloCCker

The same could be found installed in your computers control panel.

Removing them from the control panel could be easy simply by uninstalling them, however getting rid of them from your browsers and computer could be extremely difficult.

But fortunately there are ways of removing them completely even with simpler methods and techniques.

How to Remove Adwares, Malwares with Simple Techniques

If you Google the above query regarding how to remove adwares and malwares you would probably find loads of suggestions and instructions.

Although the information are useful, these could be lengthy with too many unnecessary steps that could confuse and frustrate the user who may be looking for some quick clues.

So here we would be discussing some very effective yet easy adware/malware removing steps which would guarantee an instant removal of these malicious infections.

Let's learn them below:

First Step: Remove them from your Control Panel

You may be knowing well how to reach the control panel. It could be found inside the "Start" button of your computer.

Open the control panel and very carefully look for unfamiliar installations which do not have additional information against their name like, when it was installed (date), size, version etc.

Simply uninstall these softwares without any delay.

Normally while uninstalling these type of malicious items you would see a popup note appearing and saying,"we would miss you" etc.

Although you may see the control panel cleaned up from these inflitrators, don't be happy yet because your computer may be still infected, and loaded with them.

Second Step: Run a Malware Removing Program in your Computer

Remember, the anti-virus softwares (free versions) that you may be having actively running in your computer will never be able to detect these malicious items.

So do not scan your computer through them, it would be just a waste of time.

You would require a specialist for this.

I personally found Malwarebytes the most effective Malware removal tool.

Dowload it in your computer, don't worry it's free.

Once you download it, run it in the "quick Scan" mode, mostly this would get rid of all the suspicious elements hidden inside your computer.

However if you are not satisfied you could go for a "full scan" of your computer which would take a painful 6 hours of time but will dig out all that may be unwanted inside your computer.

Once the scan is complete, Malwarebytes would prompt you to select all that's been detected and will instruct you to press the "Remove all" button, and also to restart your computer at the end.

Do the above steps immediately, and also restart your computer without which the implementation may not be successful.

Step3: Clean up the Browsers Separately

With your control panel uninstallations completed and Malwarebytes cleanup done, you would feel pretty confident that all the bad stuffs have been removed from your computer.

You may be partially true, but beware the moment you open your browser you could come across the same annoying, deceptive pop-ups, Ads, popunders.

You would feel completely defeated because just moments ago you cleaned everything up and yet the monster seems to be sitting right under your nose.

Yes, this happened to me recently and I found myself baffled with no solution in hand.

I revisited my browser Extension panels and found the malicious Ad-ons nicely enabled within the browser.

Although there would be a "disable" button alongside which would provide you the facility to disable these possible Adwares entries, the moment you refresh your browser you would find them yet again enabled.

Sometimes even the enable button could be absent or just not there making you feel very helpless.

In such cases simply uninstall the entire Browser from your computer and download it back afresh.

The above action would 8 out of 10 times get rid of those sticky Adwares in your browser.

But just think what would you do if you still find the malicious extensions hanging in your browser even after removing and reinstalling the browser afresh.

This is what exatly happened with me, I could feel myself to be at end of the road, when finally I got to know about:

Avast Browser Cleanup software.

I must say this is one software that made my computer cleaned up once for all. It cleaned up all the sticky malicious Ad-ons sitting inside my computer browser that were imposible to remove by all means.

Simply dowload Avast Browser cleanup software in your computer....yes it's absolutely free.

Once the download is complte, run it as per the instructions.

The software will automatically detect and clean all the unwanted browser extensions or at least disable the items which have been ripped of the "disable button"

The above procedures explained would certainly help you to get rid of the Adwares and Malware completely from your PC beyond doubts and suspicions.
