Korean in Bangalore.

The podium was all filled with samsung engineers who were explaining to the delegates / invites who had gathered at Taj Residency Hotel on 14th,June,2010 from 9.30 AM to 5.00 PM with breaks for coffee, lunch and coffee to listen to the people from Korea who had come in large numbers to explain how they have developed this new phone.

Cell phones being a part of our body we have to carry it the moment we step out of the house. These Korean engineers who spoke to us in their Korean English had actually come to scout talent to develop their cell phones to have superior software from any of our Indian talented software engineers to be incorporated in their phones.

There seems to be very few software incorporated in cell phones, perhaps there is less exposure to this area as all cell phone manufactures perhaps copy the same basic software and try few new developed by some.Samsung was also doing the same thing.Instead of having a R&D in their manufacturing facility which may not bring out the desired result in time bound manner, why not offer a big reward and call people all over the world to compete and win prizes worth millions.

It is indeed global outsourcing with rewards to them self in billions and throw away Dollars to few once and get the best software tested several times.Their Certification process itself would be a research all over your efforts and who knows what was best as they would not tell the competitor whose software was indeed a gold mine.

The best part was to present a cell phone which they did but the package was with out the following:-

1 ) There was no software CD or a Hand Book.

2 ) The Sim Card goes below the battery.

3 ) The Camera lens is a sitting duck for breakage.

Anyway it was free and worth Rs.35,000 so no complaint.
