Samsung and Apple both are the competitor company in the market of smart phones. The only difference between these 2 giant companies is Samsung manufactures smart phones and tablets which run using Android operating system where as Apple manufactures smart phones and tablets which run on company’s own iOS operating system.

There are many mobile manufacturing companies like Samsung which manufactures and launch many Android based smart phones and tablets whereas Apple is the only pioneer company which develops and manufactures iOS based smart phones and tablets in market.

Recently both the companies have launched a new smart phone in market. Samsung Galaxy S6 edge plus which is the successor smart phone is of previously launched Galaxy S6 edge and iPhone 6 Plus which is the successor smart phone of previously launched iPhone 6.

In this article, we will present the difference between both the new recently launched smart phones.

Release Date and Operating System

Apple iPhone 6 plus was launched in September 2014 in market where as Samsung Galaxy S6 edge plus was launched last year in August. iPhone 6 plus runs on iOS 8 operating system where as Galaxy S6 edge plus runs on Android Lollipop version 5.1 operating system on top of it Touch Wiz UI.

Design and Display

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge plus is bit thinner and lighter as compared to iPhone 6 plus. Samsung Galaxy S6 edge plus is packed with 5.7 inch Supper Amoled screen having 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution with 518 ppi pixel density whereas iPhone 6 plus is packed with 5.5 inch IPS LCD screen having 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution with 401 ppi pixel density. Galaxy S6 edge plus will have Corning Gorilla glass whereas iPhone 6 plus will have Oleophobic glass. Both the smart phones support multi touch, light sensor, proximity sensor and scratch resistant glass.

Camera

Galaxy S6 edge plus includes 16 mega pixel rear camera having LED flash, F/1.9 aperture size, optical image stabilization and 5 mega pixel front facing camera whereas iPhone 6 plus includes 8 mega pixel rear camera having dual LED flash, F/2.2 aperture size, Sapphire crystal lens and 1.2 mega pixel front facing camera.

Hardware

Galaxy S6 edge plus is powered by company’s own Exynos 7420 chip, 64 bit octa core processor clocked at 2.1 GHz CPU and ARM Mali T760 MP8 GPU where as iPhone 6 plus is powered by Apple A8 chip, 64 bit dual core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz CPU and Power VR GX6450 GPU.

Galaxy S6 edge plus have 32 GB internal memory paired with 4 GB RAM where as iPhone 6 plus is having 128 GB paired with 1 GB RAM.

Battery

Both the smart phones are having non removable battery. Galaxy S6 edge plus have 3000 mAh battery life where as iPhone 6 plus have 2915 mAh battery and have 336 hours i.e. 14 days and 384 hours i.e. 16 days stand by time respectively. The new feature of wireless charging is added in Samsung Galaxy S6 edge plus which is not available in iPhone 6 plus.

Technology

iPhone 6 plus supports both CDMA and GSM SIM card where as Galaxy S6 edge plus only supports GSM SIM card. Both the smart phones requires only nano SIM card from the service provider.

Connectivity and Colour

Both the smart phones support Bluetooth and WiFi connections. iPhone 6 plus gives proprietary USB and USB charging facility whereas Samsung Galaxy S6 edge plus give micro USB and mass storage device, USB charging. Both the smart phones will be available in Black, Grey and Gold colors.

Price Tag

iPhone 6 plus will be available in market for $949 whereas Samsung Galaxy S6 edge plus will be available in market for $768 for 32 GB internal memory and $864 for 64 GB internal memory storage.

Conclusion

Both the smart phones are good in comparison to specifications. It depends on user which they want to purchase. iPhone 6 plus will run on iOS operating system where as Samsung Galaxy S6 edge plus will run on Android operating system.
