Sprint 4G Class Action Lawsuit 2012, 2013

Updated on July 30, 2012

Sprint's 2-year 4G contract comes with countless dropped calls, 4G service that is always sleeping, and an Airrave box that relies heavily on your paid Internet service just to function and yet the Airrave box still does not work when installed!

Are you on a 2-year contract with Sprint and own a Smartphone? Do you pay the additional $10 premium data fee to enhance your Smartphones 4G experience but yet your 4G status is always sleeping, doesn’t work, or roaming is always on? Is your Smartphone’s Internet connection very slow? Does your phone drop calls a lot? Do you own an Airrave for free or are you being charged for your Airrave? Have you already spoken to a Sprint customer service representative 10 times and have they advised you 10 times that the technicians are upgrading the towers in your area? If your blood pressure is already beginning to boil, read on.

Angry Sprint customers all over the Internet are complaining about Sprint’s 4G service because the phone company did not warn customers that their 4G service is not available in all service areas as of yet. Sprint is advising customers that they are doing their best by upgrading the towers but what Sprint should really be telling their customers is this;

We are charging you the $10 premium data fee for service which does not work as of yet and we apologize that you our valued customer has to mandatorily give us $10 for free until the towers are fully functional in your area. We apologize that the towers should have been working in your area by now but we don’t know exactly when the upgrades will be completed therefore please bear with us, again we have no estimated time of completion, again we apologize for the countless dropped calls you received, the slow data connections, and the phone connections with broken voice, but you will still be charged the $10 premium data fee for services that you are not receiving from Sprint.

Customers Need to Fight This Telecommunications Giant In Court!

Sprint's customer service representatives will not be able to help you. They will always tell you that the towers are being upgraded and that is all that they can do at this time. Sprint will not refund your money, they will not waive the early termination fee, they will not do anything other than tell you that the towers are still being upgraded. It is time to sue Sprint! It is time to bring Sprint their Sprint 4G Class Action 2012, 2013 Lawsuit!

After constant calls to Sprint about service problems with not remedy we had no choice but to change cell companies. Now we get hit with an outrageous final bill for early termination. I believe if you are paying over $220+ per month for cell phone service you should be able to actually be able to use it. $1200 should be considered criminal and that’s just the early termination fee for 3 phones. We were also promised and paid for 4G but come to find out it isn’t available at all in our area. Count me in on any lawsuit that comes Sprints way!

How do I join? For over a month now, off and on, I have been unable to make or receive calls and send and receive text messages. In that time my mother was in the emergency room for a possible stroke and she was unable to reach my. My husband has missed jobs because of poor Sprint service. My washer literally went up in smoke and my phone was down for 4 days so I had no means to call for help. I just got off the phone with Sprint Executive and Regulatory Services Department and I was told:

      1) that the tower upgrade Customer Care has blamed for all the outages has not even STARTED in our area.

      2) When I asked for some kind of assurance that Sprint could provide REASONABLY consistent service at my home they said "We can't do that".

      3) When I asked to be released from my contract with no termination fee because they could not provide those assurances they told me I have to have 100% service failure for the fee to be waived. The fact that I was unreachable and that I could not send or receive phone calls and texts off and on for over one month was apparently not enough.

I HATE Sprint. They have the worst service (customer and otherwise) imaginable

I would LOVE to see them sued over their failure to provide the services they claim they offer.

Finally! There needs to be a lawsuit against Sprint misleading its customers about this crappy data connection. I can't even stream music and videos (netflix, youtube, etc) without being connected to a WiFi hotspot. Sprint keeps blaming the indiviual phones and denies it's their network. I have 2 iPhone 4s's and an Evo 4G and they all have same issue with Sprints "Premium" data plan. Should be called Sprint Dial-Up connection. My plan began at $89.99/mo. after all their add-on fees over the years, i'm now paying $210/mo for 3 lines and it keeps increasing. I'm so pissed off and have spent countless hours on the phone and in-store. I WANT LEGAL ACTION!

I just started a Facebook page. Look under SPRINT CLASS ACTION and start liking it. Under Bren Claire. I will get it going in more details. WE need to get the word out there and get as many likes as possible to get a class action lawsuit going. One of my closest friends is a Class action attorney and I know it's really expensive to start a class action, so we need to find a law firm that has won against sprint before.

      First things first.

PLEASE let's get this going. Network as much as possible.

Sprint maybe delete this post since they read it.

BTW-How many times do ALL their reps start saying saying, "I'm sorry or I understand your concern"and yet??? They do nothing. No more I"M SORRY's!!!!

I had trouble with sprint service, the phones and they did not want to send me a different phone. I have complain several times and nothing happen that was satisfying to me. I told them to send me my money back and nothing happen. They are rude when you try to explain to them the situation. I am with everyone on this post. If we could sue the company that will work for me.

Sign me up! They are defaulting on their contract. Class Action!!! it's their service. They said it was the phone so they told me to go to Apple and get a new iphone 5, and guess what??? I have the same major problems. They are charging consumers but not providing the service that they promised. They won't let me cancel the contract and go to another carrier, if I do I have to return the phone which I paid for. My calls are failing, voicemail is sporadic, NO internet access, even on my WIFI at home. They said they are fixing the problems and their time frame is mid to end of the year..AS IN 2013!!! But I keep getting my sprint bills which as someone said is being used as a papeweight. What really pisses me off is that me as well as others are using Spring the crappy carrier as their form of communications with work. THIS IS MY LIVELIHOOD! I'm really mad!

I will gladly join. I can agree to be a petitioner. And I know plenty of dissatisfied customers who will want to be class members.

I am in a 3G only area. I have been paying the additional $10 premium charge on top of the $29.99 unlimited data charges for the hotspot since 2010. I discovered in November 2012 that my unlimited data plan had been capped as of September 2011. No Notice, No warning from Sprint. The connection speed of the hotspot also took a dramatic turn for the worse in addition to many other problems with their service of which I have great detail. I'm ready to file ASAP... Please tell me who I should contact.

40 Sprint customers is all that is needed for the class action lawsuit. We need the name of the law office that will represent the class and the 40 of us, but believe me, there will be MORE THAN 40, anyway all of us will be able to tell the judge that Sprint's services do not work. 4G service does not work, Internet does not work, and that stupid Airrave box doesn't work either!

I am contacting an attorney and welcome members to respond to me is they would potentially like to participate in a class action lawsuit if possible. I live here in Overland Park, Worldwide Headquarters of Sprint. I joined 5 months ago. In short, I have received 4 defective EVO LTE phones, pay Time Warner cable $50 a month for internet service to do Sprint's job an use Sprints airwave, (not working since I signed up in July, due to "known problems" (according to a Sprint employee) with towers. I have spent over 49 hrs in a Sprint store trying to resolve EVO problems, do not get service here in K.C., but also travel

for my work, and did not receive emails in th Plantation, Fl. area

when I attempted to take a 3 month assignment there, but was not

able to receive emails for job orders NOR access GPS to get around. paying for something that I am NOT receiving. Please contact me if interested, we need 40 people to participate. Thanks!

same problems here. i thought it was just my phone but i've changed it out already and brought it in to the technical support. every time i bring it i hear that others are having the same problems as me with the same phone. plus when i went to use my warranty to replace it the warranty people expected me to send my phone in for two weeks. so i would be without a phone for those whole two weeks plus if they decide to replace it by then it would take longer. i'm tired of them.

Sign me up. Paid for a premuim phone, and got substandard service. You think they would have told me they didn't have 4g service when the sold me my 4g phone. No to mention all of the dropped calls and dead spots. Every time I called they would lie and say Los Angeles is next in line and they are working on it. 3 month later still nothing. I have moved on to a different service provider. However, I am not looking forward to my early termination fee and would love to tell them to shove it. So please sign me up.

I definitely agree sprint has not only terrible wiwreless service, but terrible customer service as well. I been having the same exact issues as everyone else. I did however, complain like hell and received $100 in credits, but its still not worth the aggravation and time spent and lost airtime that I have received over the last 2 yrs I been with them. I just filed an online complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Office of the Attorney General and I urge you all to do the same!

We have to sue Sprint! Sprint's telecommunication towers will be down long after Sprint is put out of business and well after they have correctly refunded all of their customers.

So angry. Will do anything. To get sprint in court. I've had same issues plus more. My husband and I have been through countless customer service reps that can't seem to fix anything. Extra charges, phones that don't work, no service, the list goes on and on and nothing gets resolved. Service being charged to my account that was returned. Cancellation fees. All sent to collection. Rediculas!! Send this Big company's B's to court. We were customers for over 8 years and this is how we get treated.

Yes, I have been considering a class action suit against them as well. The customer service reps seem to care but can't fix the problems or escalate it high enough. It's time to let the executives, board and stockholders know what's going on and hope they care enough and have enough at stake to provide a solution. I have brainstormed suggestions and they don't get past a sympathetic rep's ear.

I have had my Spring 4G for over two years, multiple drop calls everyday, been promised 4G would be in my area the whole 2 years, I have paid the $10 and still pay the $10.00 something needs to be done

There is nothing wrong with the phone. It is Sprints service that sucks so if you are still within the 14 day return and refund policy, return your phone, otherwise, sue Sprint, sue Sprint! We need a million angry Sprint customers to take Sprint out of the telecommunications market and no I do not work for AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile. I am an angry Sprint customer myself and now they have sent me to collections for services that I have paid for that do not work! My Sprint 4G doesn't work, my Sprint calls get dropped all the time, my Sprint text messages get sent 24 hours later, my Sprint Airrave box doesn't work, my Sprint Internet doesn't work, and lastly, anything related to Sprint that I paid for their services, doesn't work! Sue Sprint, sue Sprint and get our credit restored!

I've just signed a 2yr contract with sprint in July. I purchased a Samsung galaxy s3 and was told I would have 4glte. I called many times to report the issue of dropped calls as well as going into sprint stores that have repair centers in them and was told on each of the calls or visits its not your phone it's the net work, the towers are being repaired and worked on and it's causing issues with connectivity. Today I called and was told its my device and they have equipment there that allows them to wirelessly determine the cause of my dropped called, I suppose they can also distinguish weather or not I hung up deliberately on some one I just didn't want to speak to. Seriously, I'm sure Samsung would not be very pleased that now Sprint is blaming their network issues on Samsung devices. But more importantly the nerve to insult my intelligence with the ridiculous lie of having the ability to wirelessly determine the cause of dropped calls. So I was set up with a repair ticket to go to a repair center to have a test run on my phone to determine if the phone is defective, really they already said it was they determined that wirelessly. Unacceptable.

I would be more than HAPPY to join a class action suit. I've been already involved in one with Comcast as an employee, were we compensated back for injustice act. As for SPRINT? I am sick, tired and fed up with them I have been having problems since March 27th till now July 31st! I was told in April and May that the network upgrade outages would be resolved by late June, and then I found out last week that there was supposively a new that started a couple weeks back, and is now estimated to end towards the end of August. I have spoken to more than 50 sprint representatives, from customer service agents, customer care, several supervisors, a couple of managers and even a Project Manager from Arkansas. Very few have been helpful, and I have been promised a credit that still hasn't been applied to my account. I will not pay for the hundreds of dropped calls, slow internet and choppy voice connection that has been harassing for the last 4-5 months. Let's get one started because I ain't paying a penny for this kind of service. I can’t stand making 5 plus calls to finish a very important conversation day in and day out. JUST SICK OF SPRINTS lack of CUSTOMER SERVICE, you will be muted by representatives and blind/cold transferred with someone that has no idea of what is going on.

My company has over 100 phones with Sprint with about half of them still on their Nextel network. All of the phones are getting dropped calls delayed voice and text messages if any at all. As for the Data, 3G & 4G, it keeps going up and down. More often then anything else we're on another carrier's tower roaming.

Our Rep is a parrot that is stuck on repeat. We call tech support and all they want to do is have us reset the phones. Ok sure if I don't mind setting all of our applications and email on each of the phones.

Who can we talk to about starting a lawsuit?

I would love to know how I could get a class action suit started. My husband and I signed a new contract at the tail end of our last 2 year contract being assured that our bill would only be $42.00 per month per phone and we had 4G and all the other bells and whistles. We never had 4G, each time we asked we were told we had to manually turn on the 4G, what? We were told once 4G was coming soon. However the big problem was when we received our bill and "surprise" the new month charges were well over $200.00. Thankfully we receive the bill before the 14 day termination was over and we promptly brought our phones back and cancelled the contract.

That was in May. I am now being charged for early termination fees for the termination of the contract within their 14 day time limit. I have been sent to collections AND I am still being billed. WHAT!!! I can't tell you how many "customer service" representatives I have talked to. I could go on but you get the general idea. Any suggestions on what I can do? Not happy, I am on board with any solution any one has.
