Stop global warming
One way to save the world?
Global warming, as we all know, is a serious issue. Unfortunately, there is no simple solution. But it all starts with you. You are the one who must take action. Simple changes to your usual daily routine can make our lives better in years to come, and the lives of all those who will come after us. Set an example for your friends and colleagues by doing easy environmental friendly things, learn, and spread the word.
A few examples how small changes in your life can help prevent global warming
Use Compact Fluorescent Bulbs
Replace 3 frequently used light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs.
Inflate Your Tires
Check your car tires each month, and keep them adequately inflated.
Change Your Air Filter
Check your car's air filter monthly.
Fill the Dishwasher
Run your dishwasher only with a full load.
Use Recycled Paper
Make sure the paper you use is 100% post consumer recycled paper.
Adjust Your Thermostat
Move your heater thermostat down two degrees in winter and up two degrees in the summer.
Change the AC Filter
Clean or replace dirty air conditioner filters as recommended.
Take Shorter Showers
Showers account for 2/3 of all water heating costs.
Buy a Fuel Efficient Car
Getting a few extra miles per gallon makes a big difference.
Plant a Tree
Trees suck up carbon dioxide and make clean air for us to breathe.
Buy Organic Food
The chemicals used in modern agriculture pollute the water supply, and require energy to produce.
Get involved!
There are various organizations where you can get more involved and take some direct action, like WorldWildLife.org (http://www.worldwildlife.org/involved/). You can easily find out more on Wikipedia and Google.
Additionally, you can quite easily install solar panels or windmills in your home for ridiculously cheap prices. For a complete guide visit www.freepowerproject.com.
Just be sure to remember some of my tips and start putting them into practice!
