Number One Tech Company for Growth

Although the public might expect entertainment or tech gadgetry to consume the largest number of slots in the Top 10 List of Tech Companies growing in America, a professional work related site is in the Number One Place:

People in America are interested in work. They want to find new jobs, advance in their current positions, and contribute to growing companies as they enjoy the benefits that these firms can offer them. Given this, the fact that, the social networking site for professionals, is the fastest growing high tech company in the USA in 2012 is not so surprising.

I myself am a member of LinkedIn and enjoy many of the features offered on the site. The groups for discussion and information sharing give me up to the minute information about what’s going on the world of work all across America. I am able to learn about new company openings, company expansions, new job listings, emerging industries, training practices, employment interviewing among several industries, background checking, and nearly every other aspect of employment and business ownership. Further, I can access such information more quickly that it appears on Yahoo News.

Employment and business concerns are not the only areas of my interest; I also belong to respected martial arts and sports groups, medical/health groups, education and science discussions, Christian groups, and others. Some of these groups even meet in local branches in my city for face-to-face conversations and events.

Members of LinkedIn can post a resume, connect to other members, and join group discussions free of charge. A premier membership for a fee adds other options to the basic package.

      @gamerjimmy23- Thanks for those questions.

      Forbes,com maintains Linked as No. One today, despite a reduction in a single share's price that is still ahead of 2011 and 2012 prices and above 2013 prices for the first six months, as shown by the graph I added above. Let's watch the stock exchange. However, Deloitte's Fast500 fastest growing tech companies for the same point (end of 2013) does not include LinkedIn anywhere in its top 10 companies names. Top 10 in the Fast 500 are Rocket Fuel, Acquia, MeetMe, Fisionio, OpenX, Fireeye, Heartware, Boston Heart Diagnostics, MaxPoint, and BioDelivery Siences International.

      One observation is that, as I have said several times elsewhere, Biotech (growing new organs and skin/faces and nerves, aerospace related, new drugs/tissue treatments, prosthetics, etc.) companies' revenues and stocks are climbing. Some people may have decided to invest more in those companies, while not eliminating LinkedIn and other social networking, Internet, Software companies from consideration. I think social networking sites have had too many problems recently to keep stock prices higher currently (advertising, surveillance, bullying, illegal activities, etc.).

      For a better analysis, you can pick up a copy of

      Can you explain the heavy trading of LNKD stock over the last year? And what explains the firm's stock dropping in value by approximately 30% in 12 months?

      I am also a member of LinkedIn. I haven't been on it in ages. Thank you for this interesting and informative post. It shows how LinkedIn is an excellent source of information. Thank you.

      I respect the site for the reasons you indicate and enjoy my membership. I have not purchased a higher-level paid membership, and I don't know that I would do that.

      The LinkedIn Groups are useful and make a good connection with professionally-acting people with knowledge to share as well. I have found only one such group so far that I am not totally convinced is a good investment of time and will decide about leaving it after a good 30-days try.

      I am a member of LinkedIn also and am surpised at this information. I must admit I haven't utilized all the features available so don't really know the full potential of the site. What I do know is that you have to conduct yourself professionally there, even your avatar must be

      Thanks for sharing Patty.
