Is The Surface Studio 2, worth its salt ?

Updated on May 13, 2020

The surface studio 2

I recently decided to try something different when I purchased the surface studio 2.I had been saving for the first surface studio but after seeing how fast the personal computer has evolved over the past few years, I held back my cash. The second version of this enormous tablet/PC is juiced with more RAM and faster flash solid state memory. It is also designed in a sturdier metallic finish that makes the body feel more solid. It is amazing how Microsoft has fitted such a powerful computer in a compact case but with a gigantic screen which offers an ample space for working on. Besides that, does this tablet`s aesthetics match up to its performance?.

The surface studio 2 is designed chiefly for design purposes. It feels like you are creating your work on a miniature table, the space ! While ordering I was thinking that the display is small but when I unboxed this computer, I was shocked to realize that it is only 4 inches short of my bedroom TV.

The 28 inches Pixel-sense touchscreen displays images on 13.5 million pixels and it will keep your eyes glued onto your work for hours after you are done. Don’t worry about how you will be editing those minor slips because the touchscreen allows you to zoom in and out in immense detail. Moreover, you can tilt the giant screen from desktop mode to 20 degrees of Studio Mode.

It also comes with its accessories; a wireless keyboard, a mouse and a stylus so you can have access to a fully functional desktop PC that can run the latest run office 365 or windows 10 pro.

Inside the small housing is a monster core i7 processor with 4 cores alongside a minimum of 16 gigabits of RAM. Microsoft did not shy away from showing the future compactness of computers because with this gadget you will easily carry your whole office around.

A terabyte of space is quite enough for storing your digital files but there is always a larger storage option with 2 terabyte .The computer has four USB-Ports which you can connect other accessories. Unfortunately, it does not have a rechargeable battery but a contemporary , easy to use. three pin ac cord that flatly fits into the base. Streaming is seamless on the surface studio 2 using the Ethernet port and 801.a/c WiFi. Microsoft also fixed a 3.5 mm audio jack for the audiophiles.

You feel like you are behind the wheel of a Ferrari , speeding down a straight runway, as you edit on the 6 Th generation Intel core i7 powered beast. Surface studio 2 is by no chance a modest computer especially on its 3.5 Hz CPU aided by a GTX 980M GPU . Drafting on this device is unimaginably easy because you can tilt from desktop mode to studio mode at an instant. You can also run resource demanding software like Adobe illustrator, AutoCAD, Adobe premiere, Photoshop and ArchiCAD.

The stylus is pressure sensitive such that you can make thicker or thinner lines when sketching by varying the pressure. It comes in handy when sketching and coloring illustrations with lines of different thickness and with auto palm rejection so you don’t make errors when working. Microsoft designed a special circular dial for this humongous tab that is however sold separately. The surface studio has facial recognition for secure locking and unlocking at your convenience.Although the surface studio does not deliver a gaming experience of a rig juiced with the latest Nvidia or AMD GPU, it is a device that is certainly worth its salt especially for professionals.

You can save more than $1000 today when you purchase the renewed surface studio 2 below .
