Is making more money a new years resolution for you? Here is a list of 17 great money making mobile apps to earn you some easy extra cash, or even gift cards to your favorite retailers.

You may not get rich overnight, but why not get paid for being out and about when you shop, or do what you would already be doing on a regular basis. Even earn cash while your sitting in a doctor's office browsing on your mobile phone, it can be as simple as that.

Sign up for one or all, they're all free so you have nothing to loose! Some of the listed apps below have corresponding images that have invite codes, yes I will earn a small profit if you use that code, and for most apps you sign up for, if you use that code, you will earn a little extra reward or cash as well. Enjoy!

Receipt Hog

Receipt Hog is one of my favorite money making mobile apps! Submit all your grocery store receipts every time you go shopping to earn easy points depending on how much you spend, which can then be redeemed for a PayPal cash out or Amazon gift card. They usually only take grocery store receipts (Frys, Walmart, Fred Meyer, Target, Sprouts, etc), but during the end of November through December, Receipt Hog also accepted retail store receipts as a bonus (Kohl's, Famous Footwear, etc) for a holiday special. Keep an eye on the Rewards section, sometimes they have short surveys that can earn you easy extra points.

Ibotta

Ibotta is a must have money making mobile app for a couponer! Updates almost every day with products, now offers not only products from grocery, but also from the Restaurants, Movie Theaters, Electronics, Home Improvement, Pet, and I am sure the list will keep on growing. If you bought any Ibotta products available, simply complete the task for it, verify the purchase by submitting the receipt and scanning the barcode all from your phone. They have bonuses as well that can earn you even more money. Check often every day, they are pretty good about updating their products with new opportunities to earn cash.

Mobee

Mobee allows you to earn cash and rewards for doing what you're already doing, shopping and dining at your favorite places, and then giving your feedback back to those businesses. Basically another app that pays you to be a mystery shopper at places such as Subway, Target, CVS, and Starbucks.

Field Agent

Field Agent allows you to find small jobs posted using this app on the iPhone and make money. As of Dec 2013, they paid their thousands of users over $1.8 million. The different jobs can include going to the grocery store, collecting information such as photos or client information from all over the world. Their jobs pay between $2 and $12 and are on a first come first serve so get busy!

Checkpoints

Look for Checkpoint's selected products such as Dreyers, Coca Cola, etc in the grocery store or at the mall to earn instant rewards. You can also earn rewards with this money making mobile app for watching videos available as well. When you earn enough reward points you can then redeem them for an Amazon or Walmart gift card.

Task Rabbit

Earn money by completing posted tasks that can consist of delivering an item, cleaning, running an errand, or even help out on an office task. Tasks will have a description, when it expires, and when it should be completed. The pay will vary as you will always be bidding against others who are interested in completing specific tasks, so check this money making app often.

Easy Shift

Easy Shift allows you to complete simple assignments such as taking pictures, recording a price or giving your review and get paid for it. This money making mobile app's assignments are usually short, only take up to one or two minutes to complete and can be done in the mall, at the movies, in grocery stores, or even when you are taking a stroll down the street. When browsing and reserving shifts listed you can be paid anywhere from $2 up to $20 through a Paypal payment.

IconZoomer

IconZoomer is not a get rich over night type of money making mobile app (when I logged in there was only one assignment), but a good idea to keep checking for more to pop up. When you sign up, you can be a "TrendSpotter" and receive cash for photos you take whether it's a photo of your dinner or what you are wearing. They are looking for inspiration for designers and developers.

Gigwalk

Gigwalk connects you with businesses, both large and small who are looking to hire local contract workers. Find and get jobs based on your skills and expertise. The "gigs" range anywhere from $6 all the way up to $220 to complete jobs such as taking pictures of displays in stores, testing mobile apps, delivery services, mystery shopping, etc.

Shopkick

Shopkick is not only a money making mobile app that gives you the recent deals at local stores such as Target, Macy's, Old Navy, JCPenny's, and more, but this app will also reward you for shopping those deals with "kicks" (points) that can then be redeemed for gift cards. You can even get kicks for walking in to stores and for scanning items.

NPolls

A fun way to participate in polls and get paid for it, and even make your own for the world to answer. The pay is not high, but will add up over time. For every survey completed you will earn $0.20. They offer a $10 reward for the first 50 surveys completed.
