Best ATT Android Phone 2014 - 2015 AT&T Smartphone

Updated on January 14, 2015

Latest AT&T Android Smartphones

If you've experience the frustration, slow speeds, and nonexistent customer support that comes from cheap or low-cost carriers, then you should definitely try out AT&T. AT&T is one of the most reliable and trusted among consumers and continues to expand their long term evolution or LTE network.

Why AT&T?

AT&T is the only carrier you'll find in the US that provides 4G with HSPA and LTE technologies. This allows you to get a faster overall 4G experience even when outside of the area and ultimately delivers a more consistent mobile broadband 4G experience. In this post I'll review a few of my favorite Android Smartphones that can be used with AT&T.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 combines a reliable build type with a fast processor and sleek look.

Samsung Galaxy S5

This has been one of the most popular phones on the market! Of course, all AT&T phones run on the super-fast 4G LTE network. The Galaxy SII comes with a dual core 1.5 GHz processor and the Android 2.3 operating system. The phone itself is only about one third of an inch from the thinnest point and it comes with a 4.5 inch multi-touch display.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with Wi-Fi connectivity, is GPS enabled, has a crystal clear 8 megapixel camera, and 16GB of internal memory and Bluetooth as well. Of course, with Android, you can access the app market to get all your favorite applications.

The most common complaint of users is the short battery life, but having used it it seems very similar to other high-powered smartphones. You also get access to Samsung's media hub which lets you rent or buy movies and television shows. This makes a great phone for the multi-tasker; it offers all kinds of functionality to keep you organized. Users seem to most like the easy set up for this phone; it does not include a lot of screen navigations or confusion so you can start app-ing, messaging and calling right away!

Will it get an ice cream sandwich upgrade?

The Galaxy S5 comes with Android's Kitkat Version 4.4.2. The unlocked version of this phone will get the most recent upgrade, but this one will not. If the latest OS is important to you, then it may just be worth purchasing the unlocked version.

The HTC Vivid is great new phone that comes with the Android 2.3 OS, is upgradeable to ice cream sandwich, and has a beautiful screen. Technical details include a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 4.5-inch qHD Super LCD multi-touch display, super-fast 4G LTE connectivity, 8-MP camera with Full HD 1080p video capture, 16GB internal memory, and up to 250 hours of standby time (5.1 hours of talk).

Motorola Atrix Android Smartphone Review

If you are in the LTE area, you will enjoy blazing fast broadband speeds on this smartphone. It comes with a 1 GHz dual core processor and is powered by Android 2.2. It comes with a webtop application that gives you a more computer like experience. It comes with only a 5mp camera with a lower resolution of 720p; so if you like to use your phone as your camera, you might want to purchase one that will take better quality pictures.

Specifications

Technical details include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, 16GB memory with microSD expansion, GPS and MOTOBLUR integrated social networking. MOTOBLUR will sync all your contacts, posts, messages, photos and more, all from the social media websites that you are part of.

I love this feature because I can filter messages and widgets, the screens are customizable and you can even save battery power by opting for one of three performance modes. Some drawbacks of this phone might be that Android 2.2 has been out for a while and isn't the newest and greatest OS. Some might consider the fact that there is no physical keyboard a con, but many people do like the touch screen keyboard.

Samsung Infuse

Samsung Infuse Android Smartphone

Another amazing phone, the Samsung Infuse is thin and beautiful; it weighs only 4.9 ounces. The screen is 4.5 inches and is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor with Android 2.2. With this phone, you get an 8mp camera with auto focus and auto flash, WiFi connectivity, GPS and an included 2GB microSD memory card. You get all the fun Samsung features as well like the mobile entertainment where you can download all manner of television shows and movies. You can also have up to five Media Hub enabled devices on the same account. It comes with AT7T's JustUs app that combines your social media and texting activity from five favorite contacts into animated wallpaper that shows up on the home screen.

Current users really enjoy access to the Android market, and the beautiful screen display. Some people prefer a heftier phone with more weight, but this boils down to personal preference. I personally love the lightweight feel. It has also been reported to have bad phone clarity but I haven't seen this problem. If you want a phone to help you multitask and that will give you great images on the screen, then this is a good device for you.

Motorola GSM Android Phone

This phone is designed in such a unique way that consumers find very fun to use. It is an Android powered phone that has a swivel hinge touchscreen face. It twists over to reveal a QWERTY keyboard. It comes with MOTOBLUR social networking options which has been discussed already.

Camera

With only a 3.1 mp camera, this could be a deal breaker for you; the picture quality is horrible. It has an even shorter battery life than the other phones we have reviewed and again, that could be a drawback. But for the price, and being able to have a smartphone, this device has been a favorite among many users.

When the phone is closed, the phone offers a 2.8 touchscreen display. It is a very small phone but some people find that to be a convenience. Users have reported that the WiFi connectivity is very nice and works very well, and the speaker is loud and clear. This would make a great phone for anyone new to smartphones or teenagers.

LG Thrill 4G Android phone

This phone was made to thrill you with entertainment capabilities! The best thing about this phone is the display; it is beautiful at 4.3 inches. You get very lifelike multimedia images and your games will come to life with the resolution you get with this phone. It comes with dual 5MP stereoscopic rear facing cameras that allow you to get pictures and videos in HD.

It comes Bluetooth equipped for hands free calling, a glasses-free 3D viewing option, a dual core 1GHz processor with a dual channel and dual memory architecture so you can multitask even more. It comes with three 3D games preloaded for your entertainment.

The phone only weighs about 6 ounces so it is small and light to carry around. This phone also runs on the Android 2.2 OS. Some drawbacks that users have reported include low RAM and low screen resolution compared to the Atrix phone. The camera does not allow you to take flash when taking 3D photos. When it comes to the rest of the functionality of the phone, it has high ratings for user friendliness and amazing 3D multimedia. If you are a gamer, this phone may just be an option for you.
