Corel Photo-Paint X5
Photo Shop isn't the only program that has photo effects
I had been working with Photo Shop at work for a few months (I had previously worked with Photo Shop on a Mac when Reagan was president) and I really like the program. But Photo Shop is quite expensive and after upgrading my Corel 8 to the current version, and I noticed that part of the package was Corel Photo-Paint X5. I decided to try it out and it does a lot of the same things as Photo Shop.
I Started with one of my Shoe Designs...
I wanted to try out a few different effects on Corel Photo-Paint X5. First off, here is the sketch I started with:
I tried the Charcoal effect:
... and this is what I got: (after color masking)
And I tried the Conte Crayon effect...
I also tried the Embossed effect...
I really did have to experiment with this one!
And the Needlepoint effect...
Which I thought was SOOO cool!
And the Stained Glass effect:
... because, when I was a tween and a teen, I went to a summer program run by our local public school system in which one of the classes I took (several times) was "Stained Glass" and this effect reminded me of that time in my life...
And the Tiled effect:
Compugraph Designs on PrintPop
And, last but not least, the Pastel effect:
This only scratches the surface of the different effects that I (and you) can do with the Corel Photo-Paint X5. On some of these effects, I just stayed with the settings that came up, but on many of them I had to adjust the settings (or try other sub-effects within a specific effect). I'm sure I'm going to be doing a lot of experimenting with this program (I only got it for the first time a few months ago).
