Quizzes about digital cameras

In this article you will find quizzes about digital cameras in general and about Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic and Olympus, multinational corporations which are manufacturing hi tech products with the state of the art characteristics. They are of course not the only powerful players in the field of digital technology which is evolving very fast and will indisputably offer many new surprises in the near future.

Her is a short quiz to test your knowledge. Have a lot of fun.

Digital cameras in general

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX150 18.2 MP Exmor R CMOS Digital Camera with 10x Optical Zoom and 3.0-inch LCD (Silver) (2012 Model)
This one is fast, easy and to the point. My first digital camera was Sony and I still love the brand. Many people feel the same. Sony Cyber-shot is great compact camera which does the job just as you want it!

Canon digital camera

I have to be honest with this one. Canon was never my first option. But after I have seen what my friend is able to do with his Canon Power-Shot, I decided it is only fair to include it in my top five list.

I hope my friend will stop being shy and I could show some of his shots of nature but until then you'll have to take my word for it. It is very good camera where you can do amazing things without any aditional editing!

My experience

I am not a professional, but I know how hard is to make a good picture with good camera. If you work with something sub par, it is even harder. Well, it actually doesn't have to be! There are many things to think about before you decide which one is best for you, but in the end of the day you have to think only about two major things:

1. Zoom

Higher number is better. Of course this means better (and heavier lens) what add not only to end price, this can make your camera clumsy, too.

Very popular saying of thousands photographers is:

"Better equipment I have on the terrain, less photos I make."

This statemement is not necessary pessimistic. Every professional can tell you only few photos of thousands they made, are good enough to meet their standards.

So if you don't care about the burden (professionals have asistants, right?) and want the results, comparable to the pros, go for higher possible zoom. Price? Sky is the limit ...

2. Speed

Every camera needs some time to pass between the pressed button and the made photo. If you want to study still life, portray buildings and so on, you really don't care about that.

But if you want to make photos of your family, especially moving children in playground, or maybe you want to catch some sport action or animals in motion and so on, speed is obviously the factor to be considered. Very much, indeed!

Higher speed (shorter time between 'press' and 'done') is better and expensier. Way expensier ...

Compromise

Every person is different, everybody has his own priorities and budget. Your choice in the end will always be a compromise betwen best possible zoom and fastest possible photo.

It is as simple as that.

Nikkon is relatively obscure brand in my opinion. I never had Nikkon but I know few people who started their journeys in digital adventures with Nikkon and never wanted to experience anything else.

You knew it is coming, right? Another great product from Sony. I heard the company is not as profitable as it used to be but they certainly know how to make a great digital camera.

Panasonic digital camera

I already told you I started with Sony and still love it, but lately my sympathies are going to Panasonic too. Their philosophy is different than Sony's. They share more knowledge and are much more likely to incorporate know-how from other companies, but at the end of the day we approach to the same result.

We want top digital camera for our bucks! Panasonic Lumix is THE top contender and I give it a thumbs up!

Can you earn easy money with photos?

Thanks for asking. With hundreds of on-line service where everybody can upload photos, made by his or her, it looks with some imagination additional (or main) source of money is really accessible.

The problem is in competition. There are millions of photographs who are offering their works for pennies and it is very difficult to promote your photos with enough aggression to be even noticed.

And when you are noticed, you'll learn the hard truth. Good photos are not enough, if they don't portray the theme in demand. Possible buyers are looking for differen things, but the best earning possibility lies in pictures of people.

You need great photos of people in different situations, what means you need good knowledge of photography and you also need so called modeling rights (simply saying: the right to use one's image on photo). Modeling right can be quite complicated issue, which calls for another article ... Maybe another time?
