Are you using an ATI graphics card? Because older ATI drivers tend to leak a lot of memory.

By Memory Utilization i mean if a Linux machine is having 4GB of RAM and when i run the command "free" i see that there is hardly some MB's of RAM left.

This causes the application and the machine to respond very slow and the machine starts utilizing more of Swap memory.

my question is how should we approach this issue, by finding the root cause and by using what commands and scripts.
