How to transfer old iPhone contacts to my new iPhone?

    How to transfer old iPhone contacts to my new iPhone?

    I recently got a new iPhone and am wondering how I could transfer all of my previous contacts to it. If I sync it to iTunes will it erase all of the previous contacts or what?

    In order to sync contacts to a new iphone, Im pretty sure you need to have entered them into a contacts client, like google contacts or outlook. This will help if you have to suddenly restore your phone too, I would take the time to enter each of your contacts into google contacts.

    If you got a droid you could actually just take your sd card out of your old phone and put it in your new phone.  It really is that simple when you don't have an IPHONE!

    Thanks for the responses.

    I figured it out, it's actually quite easy. When you sync your new iPhone to iTunes (on the same computer you used to sync the old iPhone to) you are given the option of restoring it to a previous backup of your old phone. All of your contacts, messages and settings are restored this way.
