Nanodiamonds are produced by detonations in a closed chamber.  They have many applications, none of which are nuclear.

Thank you for the answer, I have seen that page and realize the basic uses of nanodiamonds, and I have a few articles on them if anyone is interested.  One is concerning the IAEA and a report which blurs the line between nuclear applications and a nanodiamond scientist.  I just wondered if perhaps a knowledgeable physicist or otherwise might be able to enlighten me as to whether it is at all possible that such a nanoparticle could play an important role or even the techniques could be used similarly or if the report is just bogus as some other critics have claimed.
