Try www.wix.com  It's a flash website builder and it's free.  I've built a few sites there.  You could also try blogger.com or webs.com

sites.google.com can be created and customised but you will have the big extension of yourname.sites.google.com
Check out wordpress.com as well you can customize it to be specialized for art

You can use custom domains at Google Sites, mate. Concerning Wordpress.com, it has several limitations, like not being able to monetize your website.

I strongly suggest you to use Blogger, since you don't seem to be interested in using PHP in your project. Blogger has a lot of built-in features, and scripts that are pretty damn handy. If you plan to use a more sophisticated platform where you will be able to play with PHP, so you should head over www.freehostia.com, and sign up for a hosting plan. You will have the Wordpress content management system ready to be installed in your server in a click, that is different of the limited Wordpress.com platform. For amazing premium Wordpress themes, take a look at www.elegantthemes.com.

    I hope it helps.

    Best wishes.

    :-)

Ya that's the problem with wordpress, my wordpress site is for my writing business therefore I don't mind the absence of ads. How do you get custom domains at google sites?? Is it free?

Yes, it's completely free. You should go to: More actions/Manage site/Site settings/Web address.

Let me know if something goes wrong.

      Best wishes.

      :-)

The web address must be a valid subdomain, like www.example.com or mysite.mydomain.com.

So I can't create my own domain name.

Hello, buddy. The domain you mentioned above is not registered, and you must own the domain to set it up on Google Sites.

            Best wishes.

            :-)

The whole process to set up the domain is free, but you must rent the domain previously. Sorry if I was not clear above. Let me know if you need some help.

              Best wishes.

You can register your domain at:

              www.godaddy.com
              www.domain.com

Since you are from India, I heard good comments about Whiz.in, and it might serve you well.

              www.whiz.in

Choose the best registrant for you, and register your domain. Best wishes, buddy.
