Drama in the Forums

On a cold, windy and dark night while suffering from insomnia I decided to pass the time on a forum.  I wanted to see what the world was up to so I logged on to the forum and was rapidly involved in a discussion about who would win in a fight…Superman or Batman.

In the midst of that conversation I went to a different forum and found an interesting title called “Does God Exist?”  I opened the thread and discovered that people were actively involved in a religious battle on the internet.  I read several of the posts and learned that the fanatics were essentially calling the non-believers heathens and infidels.  This made me laugh because here is the exact reason not to judge.  I sometimes do not understand why people must force their beliefs on other people.  If you believe in God and the whole religion aspect of life, then I am really happy for you.  However, sharing your beliefs belongs in the church you attend.  I would also have to agree that you can share your religion with those who seek understanding, but only after they ask for it.  If you don’t believe in God or religion then keep your beliefs to yourself as well.  I for one do not want to hear about how there is no proof of God’s existence.  I find that I am content to let you believe what you want while you let me believe what I want.

So after reading in great depth the contents of every persons post that commented on that thread I found out one thing.

People in religion forums are nuts.  That includes both sides of the spectrum—believers and non-believers.  All are trying to convert the other to their way of thinking.  Some believe the bible should be taken literally, while others believe it should be taken metaphorically.  Which one is right and which one is wrong.  The answer is neither is right or wrong.

One the first day God created the heavens and the earth.  Taken literally means the heavens and earth were created on the first day.  Taken metaphorically means that when you are born the heavens and earth are made new to you.

Sports

So in the middle of the forums topic two people decided to have a fight.  One called the other a name and the other called the one a different name.  This went on for like three pages.  I sought to understand what they were fighting about and could not figure it out.  So I left and went to another forum topic.  Sports

My favorite sports team in professional football is the Indianapolis Colts.  They have a great team and have won many games.  No I am not from Indiana and no I haven’t been a life long fan.  A lot of sports fanatics find this to be very irritating come to find out.  I informed everyone what my favorite team was and why.  I was then asked where I am from and how long I have been a fan.  I am from Idaho.  The nearest team to Idaho is the Seattle Seahawks.  I don’t like them because they have sucked for so long, anyway I picked the Colts while they were having the best season in a long time.  The reason is because I liked the way they were playing and Peyton Manning’s passing game was on point.  So I got called a warmonger and other distasteful names because I wasn’t true to the nearest team to my home state.  Whatever, I could give a hoot.  So after being called this I got on my tough guy costume and proceeded to call the nincompoop everything I could think of.  Then I left and went to a more relaxed forum.  Pets

Pets

I pride myself on having a very fruitful imagination but I could not imagine how I could find an argument and fight in a pet forum. There I was, minding my own business when I found a topic post that asked the question, “Which pet is best for families?”

Well, I have a pet and a family so I decided to respond by saying that the Boxer is the best breed I know of for families. I gave a link to my article about choosing the perfect pet and a link to the AKC Boxer website. I left, visited a couple of other threads, and came back to the original thread to discover that someone else had responded. Out of curiosity I opened it and read the last comment. Someone by the name of “labmaster” decided to leave a remark.

He stated that the Labrador is the best pet for families and that I was a complete retard and should be hung for saying something so ridiculous, and potentially causing some child to get mangled by their bad temperament. He continued to degrade and insult my level of intelligence by stating that Boxers are bred for cage fighting and there have been many instances of the Boxer attacking humans.

I though for a moment…goggled this, and found that fact to actually be fiction. The breed this knucklehead was referring to was the Pitbull. Granted not all Pitbull’s are bad tempered but for the most part they are seen as an aggressive dog and most places won’t rent to you if you have one. So I posted a comment back to the guy stating that he was an imbecile for confusing the two breeds and needed to have a reality check. At this point I decided to leave forums and not post anything anymore.

Granted I will still post a couple of things on hubpages forum but not very much.
