Google AdSense Secret Tips

Updated on September 6, 2014

The first thing that anybody wants to know about Google AdSense is how to make money from it and become rich. You have probably seen all those flashy screenshots on how people are making hundreds of dollars each day from their Google AdSense account for essentially doing nothing.

Google AdSense Secret Tip 1

Those flashy sreenshots are all fake. There are many tools out there that allow you to create fake Google AdSense reports. That is not to say that nobody is making money from Google AdSense. There are probably a small number of people who make very good money from it. They are just spending their time writing quality content rather than trying to hoodwink others.

Google AdSense

You must learn to walk before you can run.

Before you can start earning oodles of money from Google AdSense, it makes sense to first learn some Google AdSense basics including how to sign up and get accepted, how to read your AdSense reports, and how to best utilize the various tools in your Google AdSense account in your quest for riches.

Google AdSense Secret Tip 2

The most important money making secret about Google AdSense is don't get banned. There seems to be a lot more reports recently, about banning from Google AdSense, so it is a good idea to read through the Google AdSense TOS and Program Policies carefully. Once you get banned from Google AdSense it is very difficult to get reinstated. This will cut you off from a good source of advertising revenue.

Google AdSense - Start Making Money

There are several ways that you can get started with Google AdSense advertisements -

  1. Place Google AdSense advertisements in your blog. The easiest way to do this is to create your blog on Blogger, which is also owned by Google. It is very easy to incorporate Google AdSense ads into a Blogger blog.
  2. Join an online writing community (HubPages), write online articles, and let them place Google AdSense advertisements for you.

The advantage of this option is that these online writing sites are well respected and well crawled by Google Search. This will give you a leg up in terms of getting web traffic for your online articles. They also have very good writing communities that are ready to help you with your questions.

The disadvantage with these online writing sites is that they operate on a revenue sharing basis. HubPages does a 60/40 revenue sharing scheme; you get 60% of the AdSense ads and HubPages gets the other 40%. Squidoo is 50/50.

  3. Create and host your own website. This gives you full control over all your content, including your Google AdSense advertisements. However, it is by far the most advanced option. You will need to set up your own web server or subscribe to a web hosting service. Then, you are solely responsible for creating and marketing your own site. You get 100% of the profits but remember that 100% of nothing is still nothing.

Google AdSense Secret Tip 3

I started out by creating my own website and had very little clue as to what I was doing. It wasn't until I joined HubPages that I started to get traffic on my content. The HubPages community gave me a lot of good information on online writing tools and realistic Google AdSense money making strategies.

Google AdSense - How Much Money Can One Make?

Theoretically, the sky is the limit.

However, realistically, most people will have very low Google AdSense earnings initially. I earned very little in my first few months because I was learning how to structure my content, how to promote my content, how to do keywords, and many other fun skills that go into getting traffic and enhancing my Google AdSense profitability.

Google AdSense Secret Tip 4

Do not give up after a few weeks or a few months. You will not be making thousands per month in your Google Adsense account right off. Many authors on HubPages report that it takes them at least 4-6 months to earn their first $100US Google AdSense paycheck. Depending on your initial knowledge level and available time investment, it may even take longer than that.

Do not give up. It takes time to learn the ropes and to promote your online content and your online brand. Just take it easy and enjoy the writing and learning process as you go along.

Google AdSense Statistics

If you are serious about making money through Google AdSense, you really want to examine the traffic flows and patterns to your content. In particular, you want to determine which keywords are bringing in the traffic, which keywords are bringing in the money, which online articles are the most successful and which are the least successful.

This information will help you reconfigure your online articles to enhance your traffic and clicks. You want to identify why certain articles are successful so that you can duplicate that success. Similarly you want to identify why other articles are unsuccessful so that you can avoid making the same mistakes in the future.

One of the most effective ways to track your Google AdSense statistics is through Google Analytics.

It is very easy to link your Google AdSense account to your Google Analytics account. Once you have done this, you can get detailed information on which keywords and articles are a success in terms of traffic and money.

Google AdSense Secret Tip 5

Google Analytics is a fun a very useful tool to analyze who is visiting your pages, which keywords are bringing in your visitors, which keywords are bringing in the clicks, which articles are bringing in the clicks, and much more. Ultimately you may want to get even more detailed statistics on your traffic, but as a start, Google Analytics offers you a no cost, low effort way to examine your traffic and improve your content.
