iPad Bags | A Selection of Mens and Womens Styles of iPad Bags

Updated on June 10, 2011

Best Ipad bag choices

iPad bags are a necessity if one wants to take advantage of the portability promised by this high end gadget.

The iPad falls into an uncomfortable size category, its to large to slip into ones pocket, yet to small to realistically use the traditional laptop bag that you may already own.

Portability is the main draw of an iPad for me, the iPad offers many of the basic functions of my netbook at about half the size and twice the battery life.

There is no shortage of iPad inspired bags on the market but many are just repurposed bags for netbooks and smaller laptops. The following is my search for the smallest iPad bag with the most utility.

A personal consideration for me, in my search for the perfect iPad bag, was to avoid the satchel or man purse style , it may have worked for Indiana Jones and the Wolf pack man from Hangover but it doesn't fit my needs or style.

As one clever internet buyer once commented, pads and purses are commonly seen in combination, so I have included options for those interest in the iPad purse or iPad man purse style.

iPad bags: Executive and Messenger style

The iPad is a classy device. It is expensive and it is currently very much a trendy status device. If you are going to fork over big bucks to join the ranks of those successful enough to afford this gadget, you should really complete the look by selecting a bag that complements your business style.

A backpack or large size laptop bag being repurposed as an iPad bag just screams of inadequacy. It suggests you are a terrible lover,a poor provider and probably wear two year old briefs.

Am I kidding ? No, Im very serious, throwing an expensive device into an oversized outdated bag points out serious flaws in your thinking, many are sharp enough to pick up on this.

Take a moment to take an inventory of the minimum of space you require to carry your iPad and use it to its full abilities as a traveling media device or mobile office.

With these factors in mind, what style best suits you?

iPad Messenger bags

I find that messenger bags best fit my mobile iPad needs, The extra space is convenient for a traditional book or small purchases I may make in my travels. The pockets allow me to keep cables from being tangled or confused and the choices below often included padded, screen protecting liners that allow me to leave my bulky iPad case at home.

Messenger bags actually adapt very well to mobile lifestyles, perhaps this no surprise since the style is named after its convenience and utility for those who are in fact "messengers."

Indiana Jones iPad Bags

If your type who needs more than one satchel to carry your hand sanitizer, tissues and other metrosexual gear, yet don't want to feel to feminine about it - try to suck some machsismo from the style most identifiable by big screen tough guy, Indiana Jones.

There is a fine collection of satchels below:

iPad Purses

I may jest a bit in my description of 'man purses' and satchels available for the stylish iPad user, but in no way does that mean I don't support the search for purse like iPad bags, if you need an iPad purse, Im happy to share the top options.

I would so much like to be able to afford to buy an iPad one day. And your hub has given me the perfect case to put it in.

That Zena Zipbook goats leather case in black is really stylish and I love the smell of leather too.

I like the folio style cover, I think I would look quite professional carrying that rather than a teenager style backpack. A very nice selection of bags.

It has been about a week since a lady showed me the iPad she dropped on concrete. There is a significant dent on one edge, but as of that day she was still able to use it. She became a believer immeidately in the need for a cover. I am sure you will find a large audience for these.
