Kindle Fire 1st Generation

Updated on August 18, 2014

Original Kindle Fire

One of the best eBook readers out on the market yet is the 1st Generation Kindle Fire.

I've looked at the the new Kindle Fire HD while out and about. I admit It's a nice upgrade to the original. I would in my own opinion still suggest the first ever Kindle Fire. That is the one I own and I enjoy it a lot. I read, play games, check email, Facebook, tweet and even watch movies on it. I listen to music and love all the various apps that you can download. Even though its not the latest one, its a good buy. The price has come down from when it first came out a year ago. The graphics are clear and sharp and the WiFi Internet connects fast. The very best thing of all is that this is all wrapped up in to one handy dandy eBook reader. You don't have to take several books or games with you while out and about; it's all in one device. You can dress it up in a nice colored case or neat looking skin to protect it.

In this lens is my reviews on the books, music and apps for the Kindle Fire. I would highly suggest this 1st Generation Amazon Kindle Fire.

Kindle Fire Books

There are so many titles of books that you can download on your Kindle Fire. There are over 120,000 titles and more. It's amazing. If you are a Prime Member through Amazon you can rent at least one book a month with no waiting and no due dates. There are over 180,000 titles to choose from. How cool is that!

I have tried the Audiobooks by Audible a few times. I liked it but don't use it often. Audible offers more than 100,000 titles written by best-selling authors. So for those who like to listen instead of read. This is a great feature!

I love to read so selecting books from the freebies, buying them and renting a book from Prime is heavenly! Well worth it!

Kindle Fire Apps

There are tons of apps you can access on the Kindle Fire. Everyone has their favorites. Some of mine are Email, Facebook, Twitter, Weather Channel, Solitaire, Mahjong, UNO, WordSearch, Bible, QuickOffice and Linkedin as featured in this photo.

MOVIES

When it comes to watching movies of course I love the Amazon Prime Instant Video since I am a member. One of the TV series I watched was Felicity. I loved it. I could watch it in bed and even while working on my laptop my desk. The most recent movie app I downloaded is the HBO GO. This does require you to have access to HBO to get this which is unlimited streaming. I have Charter and HBO. I also have the Netflix app as well which I like from time to time. So the movies are endless that you can stream on a Kindle Fire.

MUSIC

The Amazon Cloud is what comes with your Kindle Fire. You can store 250 imported songs from your collection of music for free. Then after that you if you want more stored in your Cloud you'd have to purchase more space that allows up to 250,000 songs for $24.99 per year. I only do the free music storage on the cloud since I've found another music app that I really like called Google Play Music. You can store up to 20,000 songs for free from your own collection or music purchases for free. I have over 2.000 songs uploaded so far. I love it. Take your music everywhere with your

OFFICE

Quickoffice Pro is a office suite that lets you open and edit Microsof Office documents, spreadsheets, and presentations as well PDF files online and offline. I use this app and I really like it. It's a nice feature for the business person on the go.

Of course Facebook and Twitter are big! Now all we need is a SQUIDOO App and it would be even more perfect!

Which do you prefer a case or skin for your Kindle Fire?
