LG Optimus V - Virgin Mobile's Newest Android Phone
Virgin Mobile Debuts a New Android Phone
Thought the Samsung Intercept cost too much at $250 (full price)?
The new Virgin Mobile Android phone. the LG Optimus V, being "leaked" this week to retail stores and rolls out officially after Feb. 1st will cost a sweet $150.
Major differences compared to the Samsung Intercept is that the new LG Optimus V will not have a slide out keyboard ----- All keyboarding must be done with touch. The screen is slightly larger than the intercept, which should make this a slightly easier feat, but I am not too thrilled about no hardware leyboard.
The other major difference compared to the Samsung Intercept is that it ships with Android 2.2, Froyo whereas the Samsung Intercept is still stuck in 2.1 land with the promise of an update in the Spring.
Also, initial reviews of the LG Optimus V suggest that it may be "snappier" than the Samsung Intercept, but it also runs on a 600MHz whereas the Samsung Intercept runs a more powerful 800MHz. So take that as you will.
Battery life is essentially the same between both. The cameras are the same. Both have microSD storage options. Both have WiFi.
I highly recommend visiting Howard Forums thread on the LG Optimus V if you want more information. Go HERE!
