Make an Avatar

Updated on December 15, 2014

Avatara - Make an Avatar

Once upon a time building an avatar was for the experts - but now there are many sites that make it easy for everybody to have their own custom avatar.

Avatara is a new site designed specifically for social media enthusiasts. Avatara enables fast, easy creation and upload of customized, animated 3D avatars for use on Facebook, Myspace and for instant messaging to friends.

But also consider Build Your Wild Self and the other avatar sites you'll find described here.

Avatara In Action

Avatara is an avatar creator which does its best to break that mold. The site lets you create a 3d avatar and customize just about any aspect of your creation. You can create a man, a woman, a child, a creature, or an "extreme" avatar. The extreme ones are basically just caricatures, some kind of grotesque.

Build Your Wild Self

Build Your Wild Self is that one-in-a-million avatar tool. It draws your kiddy self in rich colors and imaginative features. The resulting avatars have that grainy pencil-drawn look about them. Sure, you can use the tool to draw some normal arms and buttocks, but how boring would that be? Rather put in a little octopus, lying, or arachnid.

Avatara Art

These avatars are so complex because they are rendered in 3D. The creation process takes some time, even though the process in itself is not what you would call tricky. The good thing about this is that the finished character can look like your spiting image and it will beat these simple and commonplace flat avatars that make everybody look like sisters and brothers. These avatars are deployable to more than 30 different social sites.

It has several effects not easily found on other sites - filmstrips and newscast are great to create fun photos.

Photo Enhancements - Tucia

I love editing photos, but when you have the photos say from a wedding, a reunion or a graduation you might want a professional touch. Tucia can add a person into a family portrait or remove an unwanted stranger from your photo. They can digitally open up closed eyes or fix hair. They can also offer glamorize and digital cosmetic enhancement options - get a tan, clear acne or remove braces. Simple touch-ups such as digital camera mark or red eye removal and cropping are also available.

Some nice information here. Reminds me of the software tool Poser that I used to use.

I use my own homemade avatar here often, but maybe I'll switch it up sometime and make something new. Thanks for the suggestions!
