The Best Time Lapse Video Camera

Updated on February 1, 2015

Brinno TLC200 HD Video Camera!

Here is what I think is one of the Best Time Lapse Video Camera's on today's market!

Your going to love this little guy! This powerful, and one of The Best Time Lapse Video Camera's on today's market is a new class of camera that is designed to make HD time lapse photography simple and operator friendly.

There is no fancy or complicated equipment here, all you do is turn it on, set the time intervals, aim the camera at the subject, then when you have enough footage, simple watch the video! it's so easy, so simple, anyone can create their own time lapse video.

Imagine your product or loved ones and much more on show, in video, on your lenses, web site etc, what more could you ask for, even the professionals would be jealous of your work! I'm loving mine.

What is Time Lapse?

Time Lapse captures your desired images within time intervals then convert these images into video format for you to view!

My Choice!

This was my choice, well along with additional attachments. These are really very simple cameras to use, capture those loved ones and have the memories stored forever, your getting more bang for your buck with this time lapse video camera.

The Brinno Camera is a great way to record any project. Simply place it at your desired location, start it up, and forget it. Your results are a time lapse video recording of what you want, at what rate you want, and played back at the rate you want. I am seriously planning on taking a safari in the near future and will certainly be taking this with me so that I can capture most if not all my events, now wouldn't that be something to show!

Extremely light and portable, coming in at around 5 ounces, and with a dimensions of 2.5 x 2 x 4.2 inches, you can pretty much set this up where you want it. If using outside I recommend you include the dust-proof, weather resistant housing.

I love it!

My Brinno Review

I actually discovered Brinno by accident when surfing the net for various other information, being a gadget guy it immediately caught my attention, I am always looking for ways to perfect what I put out on my pages or web site, I usually use my DSL Nikon or Fujifilm Cameras and thought that this might be a nice twist for me to produce various images and or combining them together into a video rather than use the regular cameras which demand a lot more time and dedication.

Upon completion of my investigations and watching many videos on the product, I decided it was worth a purchase and to give it a real time trial, well I did make the purchase from Amazon and knew if things did not work out I had the option to return it for a full refund.

The purchase price varies depending on model and what accessories you need, I paid around $125 for mine.

The camera has a lot of nice features of which are displayed throughout this page, and I especially like it that you are able to use AA Batteries and because the camera has advanced power management, it gives you months of battery life, naturally this does also depend on your usage but is a pretty good gauge. I actually use re-chargeable batteries so my time does fluctuate. The time settings range from 1 second to 24 hours and the camera supports a 2GB SD card, (which should be included in the purchase), up to a 32GB, I'm presently using the 2GB, and have yet to experiment with my 16GB and or 32GB cards, so far so good.

Operating the camera is pretty easy, throw the batteries in, you have the On/Off switch right below the OK/Start button, simply slide it to on and it will boot up, using the menu button you can adjust all the settings to what you want, including customizing said, press the start button and you are on your way, the display will go blank but you should see the little LED light flash on and off to indicate that it's running, this is the advanced power management in operation. The camera will pretty much run itself until you either switch it off, the batteries run down, or it fills up the memory card.

To view what I have recorded, I simply take out the memory card and place it in a card reader for my PC or the reader in the back of my MAC, it does work in either. I have included a few video's from YouTube throughout this page for your viewing which gives you a good idea of the quality and how days are compressed into minutes for viewing, I am still playing around with mine but will hopefully have a nice time lapse video for your viewing soon.

In short, I am pretty impressed with this Time Lapse Video Camera, especially since it is an out-of-the-box ready use product, and all us non-professionals do like this, so my take is that if your looking for something different, want to catch those long holiday vacation shots or want to improve your sites and much more, then this is the guy you should consider.

Happy time lapse video shooting!

Time lapse cameras are really fun. I used to have one and did all sorts of projects from recording clouds, toys in different positions creating animations and even recording myself moving around in my sleep once!

These are very cool. I have seen and used some of the time lapse video cameras outdoors (scouting cameras) but had not seen any that were not geared toward the outdoor industry. I have a Plotwatcher game camera for scouting for deer, and think these TLVs are a pretty awesome idea!

@Bill Armstrong: Thanks for taking the time to provide me with some more information, i really appreciate it! It's great how electronics nowadays last longer with batteries than they did back then. I still have to research it and put it on my list of good things to get. But it's got me interested!

I'm gonna have to check into this item some more because i'm curious how long the battery life is or if it can be plugged in and for how long it can time lapse a subject. I love watching & making time lapse projects. I have 3 video time lapses that came out pretty cool. As far as photography time lapses go I've made 2 but haven't made any since. This camera or one like it, would be what i would have to get. I'm gonna check into this one because i also wonder if it has moving capabilities where it will move the camera head every numbered amount of time, making it a moving time lapse.

      Nice Lens.
