10 Different Meanings For LOL

Updated on January 19, 2012

When LOL was first introduced it meant laugh out loud or lots of love, depending upon who you were talking to. ( For example: friends or a spouse)

Nowadays though there are many different meanings for LOL as the youth of today think of many new ways of changing the English language- for the better or for worse we shall have to wait and see.

After browsing around on the internet i have found many different meanings for the word LOL- some of them clean and some of them not so.

The only problem i have with all the different meanings is that how do you know whether someone is being nice when they say it, or damn right horrible? I guess you could say that it is down to the context of the conversation, right?

So i have decided to list my favorite 10 meanings of LOL. I am also not going to tell you what they mean ( at this stage anyway!), and i am hoping you will guess or ask me in the comment section. I think this will be a good interaction.

1. Land Of Liberty

2. Log off Loser

3. Little Or Lot

4. Left Over Love

5. Laugh Or Leave

6. Loser Of Losers

7. Lil' Ole Lady

8. Lots Of Lies

9. Live Or Leave

10. Live On Line

Have you managed to work out what any of them mean yet? I know some of them are difficult and they make you think " what the hell does that mean?!"

Leave a message telling me what you think they mean, or some of them anyway, and i will respond and tell you :)
