Best FPS PC Gaming Mouse Pad 2017

Updated on February 14, 2017

If you're an FPS gamer like I am, then you know the importance of precision. Many of you have probably already purchased an expensive gaming mouse, but have you thought about what goes directly beneath it? A good gaming mouse pad can give you additional precision, accuracy, and stability. In this post I'll review the top 10 gaming mouse pads for 2015 and give you a chance to vote on and discuss your favorite.

#1: SteelSeries QcK Gaming Mouse Pad

I've used the SteelSereis QcK extensively in FPS games like Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty MW3. While there may be other gaming mouse pads that can beat it out on certain features, this one deserves the number one slot because it is the best combination of price, overall effectiveness, and popularity.

SteelSeries is known for making quality products that produce results. They aren't big on bling, but the SteelSeries QcK looks smooth with the black texture and SteelSeries logo in the corner. You can also find it in customized Chameleon designs made for games like Diablo III and WoW. If you've never used one of these before, then you'll be surprised at just how big it is (12.6 x 10.6 inches, or 320 mm x 270 mm). One of the reasons that I like this particular model is that it's big, but not overbearing like some of the even larger mouse pads that can easily take over your entire desk.

Features and Design:

This is a cloth mouse pad, but don't let that fool you: The rubber base on the bottom prevents it from sliding. The high-quality cloth, along with SteelSeries' signature surface, creates a glide that is consistent and ideal for precision. Some people complain that this mouse pad comes rolled up and is a little bit difficult to straighten out. I personally haven't had any problems with this whatsoever, but if you do, then throw it in the drier for a few minutes and you'll be set.

#2: Razer Vespula Dual-Sided Gaming Mouse Mat

The Vespula is ideal for those of you who want a precision mat but also need a wrist pad. The surface is an abrasion-resistant hard coat that gives you additional accuracy and control. The pad also gives you two surfaces in one, so, depending on what type of game you are playing, you can switch it to a side that has more or less glide resistance.

#3: Razer Goliathus Omega S—Control (Fragged)

The only difference between the SteelSeries 4HD and 9HD is size. The 4HD is the same size as the QcK at 11.4 x 9.4, and the 9HD is significantly larger at 12.6 x 10.6 inches. They are made of a durable plastic specifically engineered for professional gamers, giving you a semi-rough surface for an accurate and precise glide.

SteelSeries is used widely by a number of professional gamers, but with so many models and types, it's easy to get confused. Even though there's not enough space on this page to include all of their models, this chart should help you to easily see what your options are.

The G.L.I.D.E. 7 uses a low-friction synthetic fabric for smooth and accurate movement and an extra thick 6 mm foam rubber backing for additional comfort while playing for extended periods of time.

Overall cloth mouse pads are the most popular because they're easy to wash and make gliding with your mouse easy.
