Windows 8 was built from the bottom up to take advantage of the new multi-touch screens and/or multi-touch pads. Very different from Windows 7, which though touch enabled, had touch abilities added on. The seamlessness of the touch sensitive screen capabilities of Windows 8 is something you will appreciate.

While you can use Windows 8 without a touch sensitive screen, you will find that at the very least you would want to have a multi-touch pad for the best experience, and to take advantage of the many of the multi touch commands available. Windows 8 was built with an idea of tablet productivity in mind. These tablets are quite nice and cool. I like the Microsoft Surface with Windows RT. HP and Dell are also offering some really cool deals on Windows 8 powered systems, laptops and tablets.
