Vinyl to CD - Teac Recorder
Teac player recorder
I did the research. I read all the reviews. I wanted a recorder to transfer all 700 of my vinyl albums to CD. It took some time, I am very cautious when I spend large amount of money. I looked at several brands. In the end, I picked the Teac because I have some "ancient" Teac equipment that still works today.
We were excited and couldn't wait for our package to arrive. When it finally did, we opened the box and then looked at it for a day. It is a little intimidating with buttons and dials. I decided at that point that it was up to the grandson and grandfather to use and I would stay out of it. The 13-yr-old is tech savvy but the grandpa is not. Between the two of them, they have figured it out and every night now, they record at least one of the albums.
If you read the reviews, people talk about the settings, what is best, when to use them. Those people are correct but for us who are not quite as critical of the sound, we have found it more than easy to use. We have made it through The Animals, The Association, and a few Jon Anderson records. We have done half of the Beach Boys and when we are done with those, we will tackle the Beatles. It seems my husband and I are fans of the two largest "B" groups, me being the Beach Boys and he, The Beatles.
When we are done with the albums, we will tackle the reel-to-reel tapes and the several many cassettes. It will also record those. It's a great piece of equipment and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

How to use the Teac
First album recorded - "Ace"
We are through most of the Beach Boys (my albums) but have yet to start on the Beatles (my husband's albums). We did take a break and do some Johnny Winter to send to my youngest son. Johnny Winter passed away in July 2014 and his music is not as well known as his brother, Edgar. My son is a fan of the Winter brothers so the music we recorded for him was in the mail the next day.
I love about the Teac because the learning curve was not as great as we expected so it's easy to record the album to CD, Best toy we have purchased in years.
