Ode to King Tutankhamon
Golden god king of unknown end thy mask
Precious crafted inlaid with ancient stones
Found when the heel of Carter’s humble ass
Stumbled into sands and secrets of your bones
Deep with Isis, Nephthys, Neith, Serket too
Below ancient tombs and older tales
Three golden coffins for a king so young
Imagine Second Ramses, O fortune!
That you King Tut should teach us thrones
Tomb raiders forced the Great to hold his tongue
Tutankhamon within his gilded shrines
And sarcophagus solid and secure
Grave robbers have been here, taken few gem lines
Jackal god Anubis guards the sacred lore
Where sleeps the precious royal innards
On Nubian steered boat ride to sunset west
The papyrus and the lily uniting this great land
The cobra and the vulture the royal youth invest
Alabaster wishes millions of years
When Ankhesenamon serves beyond the sand
