3 must-take international vacations in 2017

Updated on January 12, 2017

Taking a foreign holiday is on the bucket list of many people, but many are not able to accomplish this dream because they feel travelling abroad is too expensive. You would be surprised to find that it is not! Just pick a destination that not every tourist goes to, look up accommodation in a home or a hostel, and get going on your trip.

New Taipei

Chinese hospitality is out of this world in New Taipei, Taiwan, as you gorge on the most delicious street food, check out the stunning locales and a smiling local at every corner. Don’t forget to be polite and say ‘thanks’ when somebody gives you the right address. You should visit this city in January when the Year of the Monkey festivities pick up. There are many carnivals and a very festive atmosphere here.

Vilnius

This is a stunningly gorgeous town that you can visit in the summer, when the weather turns warm and the flowers are in bloom. You will be enchanted by its old world charm – it has cobblestone streets, houses with thatched roofs and Gothic style churches! Completing this postcard perfect picture are the gorgeous people who are always ready with a smile. Take a stroll down the River Neris, which is the most romantic setting you will come across.

San Juan

Located in sultry Puerto Rico, San Juan is a traveller’s delight with its weather and beautiful people. In fact, it would be a great idea to end the year with a visit to this place, because its winter festivities must be seen to be believed. There is a winter street fest complete with food stalls, floats, children’s play activities, and so on. You can even learn the basic steps of the Salsa and Rumba and dance the night away.

Of course, no holiday is complete without taking extra cash, medication and clothes with you. Be careful with your travel documents and don’t forget to take travel insurance before you leave. Your travel insurance plan will keep you safe from the costs associated with taking treatment/hospitalisation abroad, duplicating lost passport, expenses associated with treatment of accidental injuries, lost baggage, refund of cancelled plane tickets, etc. Thus, it sweetens the pleasure of your holiday since you are well protected from unexpected occurrences, at all times.
