A Disneyland Vacation
Indiana Jones Ride
California Here We Come!
We decided to take Johnny to Disneyland when he was seven years old. As an activities director I love to plan, so I went to the library and started reading every book on the subject and reading on-line all I could about Disneyland and how I could save money! I figured I could work it down to a science and we would get to have more fun and miss all the lines and crowds. We had the best time ever! The first thing to do is talk about timing your vacation so you do not go when it is super busy and crowded. We flew down in May when it wasn't too hot or too cold, It is one of the best times to go before Memorial Day when the lines are not so long. Another great time to go is after thanksgiving and before Christmas. I recommend a Disneyland vacation package deal; you will save with all the coupons, early admissions and location convenience. One Feature I absolutely loved about being a resort guest was, you don’t have to carry your gift bags around. The attendants deliver packages directly the room after your purchase at Disneyland, or you can have them shipped you your home address. We stayed at the Paradise Pier, it was so cool. We won the Big Kahuna family award! (I think it was because Jonny had his surfboard shirt on. LOL) We rode on all the major rides we liked, ate some good food and made it back to the hotel by early afternoon and took a nap by the pool and then went out for more fun in the evening!
You know how black Friday is? Well it’s sort of the same idea. In the morning eat a power breakfast bar and get some good walking shoes on. The trick to riding all your favorite rides without the crowds is to get up early and be at the gates before 8 am. First we scrambled to Adventureland and rode the Indiana Jones ride. Then we went to the Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain . After all that we walked back to have lunch at Cafe Orleans and Looked around and took some photos. Then we hit Tom Sawyers Island and rode Mark Twain's Riverboat. Afterwards we went back to the hotel and took a power nap and played in the pool. Around four we went back to the park again and had dinner at “Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show” afterward we leisurely walked back to Main Street to watch the fireworks show and rode a few more rides along with Thunder Mountain Railroad. Be sure to save one morning for a character breakfast! There is so much more I want to tell you, but I will have to do it in pieces, soon I will talk about The California Adventure. Enjoy your vacation!
